Greetings from India! My recent visit to Scotland was a truly transformative experience. I had the privilege of being guided by a knowledgeable Scot who not only enlightened me about Scottish culture, food, traditions, music, and history but also deeply enriched my appreciation for this magnificent country. The guide also shared the story behind this particular song, and now, whenever I listen to it, I am moved to tears. - With heartfelt affection from India.

There is *nothing* wrong with someone not Scottish enjoying the music. I'm... mixed to say the least, with maybe a little Irish (an ancestor claimed to be Chinese from Ireland) I adore Celtic music, both Irish and Scottish. You should check out two bands, 'The Clancy Brothers with Tommy Makem' and that bands spiritual successor, The High Kings. (A member of the kings is the son of one of the Clancy brothers)

I see the PacNW all over this video. Big fan of Archuleta. You two sound great together. Think I would’ve liked it more without the background a cappella harmonizing and adding depth. You didn’t need it, it was much richer as a duet and felt more how it was sung when I was a kid 100 years ago. I can’t wait to hear Greensleeves. I want Fill to Me the Parting Glass sung at my funeral. It’s weird but you would be perfect. Have you sung The Old Boys by Runrig? If not please do and let me know so I can purchase it! It’s a great song TPG, lots of heart, pride and love for the old country.

I hope the two of you do many more songs together. The two of you are amazing and talented people, you each seem to have a light that radiates from you, and then when the two of you combine your talents and sign together, it’s like the clouds have parted and the the Heavens have opened. There is something very synergistic that happens when the two of you preform together.

@@scifiwriter6092 Here's a explanation I found, ""Loch Lomond" tells the story of two Scottish soldiers who were so imprisoned. One of them was to be executed, while the other was to be set free. According to Celtic legend if someone dies in a foreign land, his spirit will travel to his homeland by "the low road" - the route for the souls of the dead. In the song, the spirit of the dead soldier shall arrive first, while the living soldier will take the "high road" over the mountains, to arrive afterwards. The song is from the point of view of the soldier who will be executed: When he sings, "ye'll tak' the high road and I'll tak' the low road" in effect he is saying that you will return alive, and I will return in spirit. He remembers his happy past, "By yon bonnie banks ... where me and my true love were ever wont to gae [accustomed to go]" and sadly accepts his death "the broken heart it ken nae [knows no] second Spring again." -www.manhattanbeachmusic.com/html/loch_lomond.html It's really a beautiful song.

I am SO STOKED that you are doing completely different arrangements and vocals on the songs you've done before. I LOVE THEM!!! Your voice and David Archuleta's were made for each other. It was so beautiful!!!! My album should arrive any day now! Yay!!!!

I have the first version on my play list. I love it!! It's outstanding, but I have to say, I prefer this version. I find it to have a greater depth of harmony and variety of vocal orchestration. It's really outstanding and I can't wait to hear my album when it arrives.

I literally just heard this song on the radio last night on the classical music station I listen to, and when my sister mentioned that Peter Hollens did a cover of it, I decided to check it out. I'm glad I did- it's a lot better than the songs I hear on the mainstream radio stations.

This is based on the fallout of the Jacobite rebellion. Leave it to the Celts to make a beautiful song about it. Nice job guys.

Its a warm beautiful night here as i sit outside my tent on the Banks of Loch Lomond.. I am being dive-bombed by midgies and i don't care as this beautiful version of one of my fave songs is drifting through the still night air and making everything wonderful.. Thank you both for recording this. Big hugs from Loch Lomond to you all xx

As a proud Scotsman that grew up singing this song. I've had your album playing on repeat for the last 2 weeks and I enjoy it every single time. How you 2 sang Loch Lomond and arranged the song is exactly how my great grandfather and great uncles used to sing it (but with a heavier Scottish accent lol), and it put so much nostalgia in my heart, thanks. Incredible job and congrats on the #1 on the Billboard Charts!
