Aye we know about your love of bacon! As does everyone in the wild camping world :).Who can resist the smell of bacon cooking though? The temprature really dropped at night, but we were at 800 meters-ish. Diane and her bloomin time-lapses, i have to be careful what i do, i always wander into them, the language is blue. Nowt like a domestic at 3000ft...lol. Always great to hear from you bud...Take Care...The Ratchers :):)

Having have my parents move into this part of Scotland recently and being a wildcamper myself. Your videos around Moffat, the lowthers and galloway forest park have really helped me find new places to go. Camped on Loch enoch last year after watching one of your videos and have several other places in mind, all down to your videos. So a huge thank you, really inspiring stuff.

Nice video yet again. It never seeces to amaze me how much gear we have to carry up a hill in July. Waterproofs. Thermals, wooly hats and gloves, people from abroad must think this country is bonkers but you can't beat it. Atb Darren p's subscribed and liked.
@garnforaratch7 жыл бұрын
Hi Darren, How right you are, the gear required for a comfortable overnighter in Britain is serious. What is this ultralight camping? It's one of those urban myths is'nt it? The reality is not in 'old blighty', one or two nights a year you could wing-it, other than that there would be suffering. Where's the fun in that! Cheers for watching and commenting...Take Care...Roger & Diane :):)

@garnforaratch7 жыл бұрын
Hi Al & Sue, It didn't feel like July, it was really cold in the evening. The tent performed relly well in the high winds, we were around 2,620 feet though. Very atmospheric conditions, all adds to the adventure. Thanks for viewing guy's...Regards R&D

Hiya Mark, Aye it's great that we can spend quality time together in the great outdoors, very lucky indeed. Brilliant guys. Shame aboot the wind. But nae midge. Loving the staika. We might need one of those soon. Great lapses and a fabulous location. And Mrs ratch talking. 😂 whatever next ? Lol. Keep them coming you two. Atb. C&A
@garnforaratch7 жыл бұрын
Hiya C&A, That damn wind has been with us all through our so called summer, the plus side is the midge goes with it. The Staika has been a good investment, good usable space and it can take the hammer. Your collection of hillies is getting bigger. Cazza Cam has maybe inspired Mrs Ratch to pipe-up...lol. She maybe hasn't a lot to say on camera, but my lug's tell a different story...ha,ha. Got a bit of a back catalogue to get through, had a lot going on lately, but normality is returning slowly. You pair will be jetting off soon? Have a great time the pair of ya's....ATB R&D :):)

Unbeliveable the standing water on the ground for the time of year, even after the previous day's rain. Great views and sunsets again but it looked a cold night! I also enjoyed your last video you put up but it would not let me leave a comment to say so. Cheers Alan

Hiya Alan, We always go prepared for the worst and we're glad we did, sweating buckets on our accent and then freezing in the evening. Down jackets in July...weird! The conditions were very atmosheric, and the cloud formations were amazing, we both enjoyed this one. Life has been very hectic lately, sadly we had to remove the comments option from the last vid because we would have been unable to answer and reply, didn't want to offend or be rude. Cheers for watching and your kind words...ATB...R&D

Noo then, Aye this was a weird day weather wise, sweating like a colander on the way up, then it dropped like a stone. Very variable when you get on the summits, be prepared is the motto, one thinks. There were a few tents scatterd around the loch shoreline too. The tent took a hiding nae bother, nice to see what your gear can do. Working on the next yan this week, been away for a week so catching up. Cheers for watching marra, look forward to see what you lad's are on wid next...Happy Camping

Hiya Glenn, This is an area we keep getting drawn back to, we love the remoteness. Very rarely meet anyone on the tops. There were some campers around the loch shoreline, it looks like it has some superb pitches(logged for future camps)....lol. The Staika is crazy money now, they sometimes crop up on a well known internet auction site though. Price aside it performed really well in the high winds, it didn't feel like july that night thats for sure.
