Yeah, I go back and forth as to which film I like more. 'Snatch' is more polished and moves quick, but 'Lock Stock' is a lot of fun and very funny itself. I love how it builds up to the big crescendo of violence. Anyway, great reaction. It's been emotional.

13:31 He's also my favorite character in this movie. Vasta Blackwood. Earlier in this film you hear the character Willie say "Chill, Winston" in a attempt at a Jamaican accent. Vasta played a character in The Lenny Henry Show (UK, mid 80's) called Winston Churchill. And "Chill Winston" was a catch phrase of that show.

This was guy richie's 1st big film easily my favourite film of his, he said by the time he made snatch he had no fears in making a film so I imagine lock stock had alot to do with that great reaction Jimmy 👊🤙 Another guy richie film is king Arthur I think it flopped when it came out but think its really good guy richie in medieval times 🤣🤣 peace out guys👊🤙

Lockstock is by far the more superior movie! At the time they were released, from what I heard, lockstock was considered the better film, by a chunk! I think it's only in more recent times, probably because of the presence of Brad Pitt, that Snatch has become more renown. Like I said, it's not even close!

'I'll kill ya" was my ringtone for years on one of my early cell phones. Last year, I tracked it down and it's my ringtone again. It starts with the music and I try to pick up before Rory starts the threats. I always preferred Lock Stock to Guy Ritchie's other movies. I thought it was just because I watched it before Snatch, but watching them again... I still feel this way. Maybe it's nostalgia.

Yes, this is a great movie, Guy Ritchie at his finest, and imho at his best. Snatch, while a good moviem, a very good movie, was basically more of the same for US market (yeah, totally agree, they do feel like the same movie)

Saw this in the cinema on release four times. Was living in Auckland and my days off work were during the week so they never lined up with my mates. We were meant to go and check it out but they couldn't make it so I went on my own. And then over the following two weeks I got calls from them all individually asking if I still wanted to go see it. "Already seen it, but I'll go watch it again" x3.

Lock Stock was the original. Snatch was a great film too, but Richie honed his style with this film. You might want to check out The Gentlemen another good Ritchie film.

I also prefer Lock Stock! Snatch is a more polished movie, I love it, and you can see in it how much he had learned (and how much of a larger budget he had), but Lock Stock feels more down to earth, more personal, more relatable. Snatch is so slick and cool it's hard to relate to anyone in it.

I don't know what it is about 1998/99, but there were SO MANY great movies at the time. I'm old enough to remember when nobody had heard of Guy Ritchie, but everyone was talking about this movie. What an amazing debut, no wonder Sting was involved. And Jimmy said it perfectly; I'm not the least bit mad that Snatch was more of the same, just a bigger budget. Both are fantastic!

You should definitely check out 'Layer Cake'. A film that feels like a Guy Ritchie movie even if it's not but still a good one at that. Stars James Bond himself, Daniel Craig.

Oh, wow that's a hell of a movie. I just watched it a few weeks ago. It's a much tougher watch than Guy Ritchie. I had read the synopsis and knew the ending, but damn, I cried at the end.

Edited because you have seen The Gentlemen. I also love Lock Stock and don't understand why it isn't included in the same conversation as Snatch. I think part of the acclaim for Snatch is a real Hollywood star, Brad Pitt in the movie. After Snatch, I didn't love anything he has done until The Gentlemen.
