An impassioned homage to motorcycling in the UK. The possibilities, as you say, are endless! Marvellous stuff! Best wishes to all adventurers for 2021.

Another very informative engaging talk. So much to see beautiful countryside in the UK. No need to go abroad. Many thanks Nathan.

There is a transmitter tower at the top of Holme Moss summit next to the car park, it will interfere with your aftermarket alarm. Stick your bike in neutral and coast down the hill for a while (I have saved you an hour of shouting at your bike 😊). Great info Nathan, I'm tempted.

6:30 The church at Culbone is generally regarded as the smallest in England - although dedicated to a Welsh saint.. You'll need your feet though as there's no paved road that will take you there. Another option IF you're blessed with time is to walk up thru the woods from Porlock Weir

mouthwatering! scenic routes, no mways, tea and scones followed by a steak and ale pie supper with real ale, rinse and repeat.....

Great to hear you talk about so many roads I can visualise travelling along. It's been thirty years for some of them, others more recent, but I can picture the scenery (and perhaps even feel the warmth of the sun...! 😎) Cheers, good one...

Thanks for sharing your route and insights. Have done elements of the route, but was great to see some new places and recommended options. Depending on how foreign travel goes this year, it cheers me up to see that domestic trips are not the end of the world!

Thanks for being so generous with your route planning. I hope to do a leisurly LEJOG sometime soon. Local knowledge is priceless. I can ride around the Peak District (home turf) on a sunny summer weekend, and hardly see another motorcycle :-)

I can vouch for all this having done the run a couple of years ago. You could have mentioned even more (Glen Coe, Saddleworth Moor etc) but glad you didn’t mention the rugby!😬

Thanks for posting this route .As a Bristolian I know what you mean about our traffic! As an alternative to going through the joys of city centre/M32 you could perhaps consider going along the Portway/Gorge and under the Suspension Bridge to meet up with the M5 and then onwards to the old Severn crossing. The only downside is that you will miss spotting the SS Great Britain but I'd say it's alot safer. Really enjoying the series .
@nathanthepostman3 жыл бұрын
Thanks Richard. Yes that's exactly the route I take, under the suspension bridge, along the water then over the old bridge. I have tried swinging around to the east to miss Bristol completely, but then you just end up in Bath!

Good info there Nathan. I reckon when this civid crap buggers off it's going to be so so busy in the UK holiday destinations, I don't think you'll be able to get near a campsite ! I'll be staying in the Uk, but have set about making my adventures "bigger" in a really simple way ... I'll be leaving the T7at home a bit, and I'm "adventurising" a Honda Grom I've just bought, which should do the trick nicely. Plan on stripping my camping set up right back, and wild camp where I can, I can't wait !!

Great video.. wondered if you could advise the best ( most enjoyable snd safest )route from kilsyth to Preston in Lancashire.. I’m running it this year and am trying to avoid the most dangerous routes and trying to stick to minor roads and paths.. may not be something in your domain but thought I’d ask.. best regards.. Tom

I’m looking to get a bike and no nothing about bikes ,been on forms everyone saying start small like Honda 500s or 500x ,what’s the difference between the s and x and which one is better bike ,will be doing probably 35 percent off road and 65 percent on road ..like to get used to on the bike around uk first then probably Do Europe next year if borders open up . Would really appreciate your advice on this pls .
@nathanthepostman4 жыл бұрын
@@hussainmazzy7087 not sure if you mean the 500F but that's a pure road bike. The X has some off road ability but rather limited and much better suited to road riding. It will do gravel tracks tho which is probably what you'll be doing if you're new to it. Realistically you're unlikely to ride 35% off road and if you were then maybe a trail bike would be better like a crf250l. But I think if touring Europe was what you wanted to do then the 500x would definitely be a good one to go for. Fast enough on the road, reliable and good value. Lots of accessories for them as well

Perhaps we should sell the UK more even when all this horrible disease is over, or at least under control? Plenty of adverts for foreign travells, but see fewer of our own. We have nothing to be ashamed of here, after all. This episode really highlights that. Boost UK business and businesses might be a good shout after this mess. Refill the UK coffers. If every relevant industry advertised as bike friendly maybe we could attract foreign dollars here? Just a thought. Happy travels
