My top guards in the upcoming draft (as of now) Tyler Booker and Jaeden Roberts. Both have the size, no more outside zone and lack of anchor. Inside bully ball to force defenses to play close to the line or find out.

I New England, the sports guys say the same things about Jerod Mayo that Mike McDaniel does and most want Mayo fired because of it. Bringing back grier and McDaniel is a huge mistake and I can tell you right now that if anyone thinks they are going to beat winning teams next year, has rocks in their head. The roster is bad. They don't have enough money to build this team up next year. If they restructure Tua, Ramsey and Tyreek it's another blunder. All roads lead building up through the draft again, like we were supposed to do 3 years ago, but Ross and Grier made the same mistakes as he did with Tannembaum. Put it this way, this team was more concerned last year with creating TD celebrations and 2000 yards for Tyreek than winning a playoff game. The coach takes responsibility for that. Get rid of him. Build the roster

Kyle. I remember posting on one of your videos before the season started. I said if Liam was starting on the OL this season, then Grier failed at his job. The absolute arrogance that he showed when he said that him and McDaniel “chuckle” when people complain about the OL is proof that his doesn’t freaking get it and never will.

Great show. Totally agree with the strategy to overhaul the guard position. It's obvious to me that our passing game is limited without a real running game, therefore the solution is to add two solid guards (draft or free agency). Why not use our first pick for the best guard/tackle (i.e., Booker, Banks, Savaiinaea, Williams) and play him next at RG next to Austin Jackson. Then use pick 98 or 99 on the best guard/tackle (i.e., Miller, Beltong, Grant, Mbow) to compete against Rob Jones for LG spot next to Patrick Paul. If we hit on those two picks, we have a solid nucleus for the next 3-5 years. A better scenario would be to get a good, experienced starting LG in free agency to be the starter at LG (Rob Jones as a quality backup) to help Paul mature into the full-time starting role at LT. I'm not sure if that player exists in free agency or if we could afford him. Make those moves and that still leaves draft picks 46, 98/99, 114, 149, and 158 to address safety, corner, and LB (and others). Lastly, I'd love to see us get Tahj Brooks or Cam Skattebo with picks 149 or 158 as a short yardage 3rd down RB and pass protector. thanks for the content.

Need to add 4 quality starters at offensive line. I don't care what you have to give up to get them. Send someone a second round pick. If anyone noticed what the vikings did when Dillashaw went down, thats what a competent coach does. O connell played QB. He knows that your offense doesn't function if you have a weak link on the o line. The dolphins have 3 weak links on the o line right now.
@Ballaholic1715 сағат бұрын
A run game will always help the passing game, and balance is key for an offense to have sustained, but it's not necessary to have a good passing game. Our passing game is limited because of the qb. You can't play great when you play weak opponents, and then look completely lost when you play the good teams. The weaker teams struggle to take the easy stuff away, and the good teams force him to actually play the position. Make Tua hold the ball, take away the middle of the field, and don't overreact to his eyes. If the receivers can't get open quick, it's easy to force him into mistakes or bad throws. He gets uncomfortable, and his mechanics start to change when he's not able to get rid of the ball quickly. That's not to say he's never done it, but if you can force him to go thru his progressions and not get the cheap throws, he can't beat you with his arm consistently.

Largely agree with everything you said. Only thing I'd add is Grier is also apart of the devaluing guard ideology with McDaniel. Grier places value on premium positions so if his coach says I don't need a none premium position he won't push back.

Kyle, I’d very much like for the Dolphins to offer an Offensive Line Coaching position to Terron Armstead. He runs clinics and knows the game intimately. Even as an Assistant Coach, to gradually develop, I think he’d probably be VERY good. Just a thought.

HOW MANY MORE YEARS DO WE HAVE TO KEEP SCREAMING O LINE !!!!???? JUST THAT LAME COMMENT OF THE FANS ARE MORE CONCERNED ABOUT THE O LINE THEN HE IS IS ENOUGH AT THIS POINT TO FIND A NEW G.M

Kyle, You and Wingfield must share notes. I’m hearing a lot of similar themes. My questions for you: * do you think Grier and McDaniel share this viewpoint? * do you think a different style of O line play/player is required or just better players to execute the scheme? * Do you think both Grier and McDaniel will be the one’s making the decisions? * We have a top heavy roster with a lot of needs, will the decision makers be able to allocate enough resources to repair the O-Line?

Kyle, I like your take on the holes the Phins need to fix. RG- James Daniels would be my top target in free agency. I am not quite ready to put Austin Jackson in the injury-prone category yet, and I would rather keep him as my starting RT at least for one more season. But I would need to see continued improvement. As much as I would love to draft a G in the first round, a DL would be more valuable there. Donovan Jackson (Ohio St.) would be my second round pick over Tyler Booker because he's more athletic.

@finzfan4719 сағат бұрын
Kyle could you make a post about what great qbs do with terrible offensive lines. I am talking about a mahommes or allen or stroud or any qb when they have had the worst rushing game and bottom 5 pass protection. No qb succeeds in that situation. Tua really didn't leave anything on the field. He could have checked the ball down more and not forced the ball to tyreek and thats just about it. No one was open and he had no time to throw. No qbs succeed in that situation. It's really not difficult to see. I was watching the game live and said the game is hopeless. Theres no way to move the ball down the field. Something will go wrong because its a gaurentee that at least one if not multiple offensive linemen will fail on their assignments. One failed assignment on the o line usually ruins the play. That happens every down and you see what we got to see sunday. Kevin o connell gets it. He saw what was happening when Dillashaw went down. It wasn't going to work. He knew this and knew that if they had any chance of winning a playoff game he needed to get a real tackle in there and went and got robinson. Two weeks later they are able to have a competent offense. It blows my mind that Mike Mcdaniel and Chris Greir constantly overlook the most important unit on the field.

Spending the resources on an offensive line isn’t going to bring us any closer to the Super Bowl. We’ve already done that philosophy with Dave Wandstat and Bill Parcells era. We had two big backs in Ronnie and Ricky. You will never have a complete team. There will always be needs and only so much money. You need a quarterback that can hide your deficiencies or luck.🍀

I swear on everything I hold dear I will give $5,000 cash to any media member who asks Chris Grier the following questions - then tapes and uploads his response. “Chris - based on the last couple drafts paired with the top heavy contracts dolled out and the fact that this team is obviously heading in the wrong direction have you given any thought about stepping down voluntarily as a good faith gesture to loyal Dolphin fans? If not, what makes you believe you can put together a team that this long suffering fan base can be proud of when you haven’t even come close in 6 years?” $5,000 to anyone who asks these questions word for word.

Hopefully Armstead will retire and take the decision away from Grier/McDaniel. You know if Armstead wants to come back they will bring him back. That means another year of Paul not developing any continuity with the rest of the line and wondering how many games Armstead will miss that season and against which teams. I’m sick of all the uncertainty. Paul is viable and the future so start playing him. You get a good break on the cap too. God knows we will need it. We need 2 starting guards. It’s too bad Deiter was a bust. I’d prefer Eichenberg over Jones if you have to bring one back because of his position flexibility. Can we agree Ryan Hayes is useless? Why is he here? We need a good swing tackle.

Grier is the biggest problem and needs to be gone. Grier refused to admit he drafted poorly on the line and forced McDaniel to use what he had. If you remember he's also traded away a center last season at the beginning of the season. We've had better lineman they keep getting traded Greer is forcing Liam and these others to continue to be played. I think McDaniel realized he's got this crappy line and his solution was to get the ball out fast. McDaniel was just lucky that Tua was able to pull this kind of scheme off.

@@nealhaley7162 I agree Grier has run his course. But please do not take my word for it when I say this offensive line is a Shanahan philosophy.
