This team actually exceeded my expectations. I thought they’d go 5-12 after last year’s finish. Then again, it turned out that they did play the easiest schedule of all. That said, they still finished sub-.500.

Really, really appreciate Kyle's self-awareness that he was satisfied with the OL in the offseason despite the fact that many other Fins fans (many of them annoyingly) were sounding the alarm on the OL. I really appreciate the bluntness of Kyle all around.

While Grier has had a few finds in the draft, he also has some real busts. Channing Tindall, Cam Smith, Noah Ignobie, all undeniable busts. Can we trust Grier to not draft another of his son's roomates this year with a top pick? I'm tired of the Michael Diter and Hunter Long picks...only to see grier bail himself out with a free agent or UDFA that fills the role instead. The Dolphins are not good at NFL level talent evaluation. We don't seem to mind if a guy only played a limited number of snaps in college due to injury, we just roll the dice and the fans pay the price. Health and availablity MUST become part of the talent evaluation process for draft picks. If other teams have passed on a guy, Grier jumps in....even if HEALTH is the reason. I'm so done with his bad judgement.
@timothy4667
@timothy4667 12 сағат бұрын
Well said. Not only did he draft some busts (and I like to include him picking Charles Harris over TJ Watt as one of the biggest mistakes there), but other things he did with draft picks could have been done with much better results. In 2021, we could have traded down to #12 (as we did) and stayed there to pick Micah Parsons and kept the 2022 1st rounder that we used to move from 12 back up to 6. I really like Waddle, but I think it's undeniable that Parsons has been the better player so far. And, if we had him (and TJ Watt 🙂) we wouldn't have needed to trade another 1st for Chubb, who then cost $20M/yr which could have been used otherwise.

Great show Kyle. Couldn’t agree anymore with anymore on needing young hungry guys who want to win a championship. Guys like tyreek can go if they want to think and act way he did Chubb should stay, he sounded like a leader.

If we can get a 3rd for Hill to make up for the comp we missed out on for Wilkins I would do that all day. This roster needs quality young depth badly. If there isn't a player they have a top 10 grade on at a premium position at pick 13 I think trading down also makes sense.

Fix the offensive guard position DECISIVELY on both sides, a good run game is essential to establish the pass game. It's just about as simple as that, do that and watch the difference.

That only surface level issues, we need more then just guards
@Ballaholic17
@Ballaholic17 19 сағат бұрын
@shadowheart3034 Yep. We had better guards the previous 2 years. Same result. They took advantage of a weak schedule last year with 9 home games, and no Thursday nighters to win 11 games. Big deal. There's definitely more underlying issues like preparation, culture, attitude, and accountability that you see with this team. It goes beyond X's and O's or Jimmy's and Joe's. There are teams doing more with less than we have here. The lack of problem solving, like fixing the same mistakes and player development, has led to much of the same over the last 20+ games.

Kyle, earlier this year you had a commentary about Belichick and his style of coaching. You felt at the time that his style was out of step with today’s players. Today you talk about the lack of accountability with the Dolphins. Do you believe that there needs to be a blend of the old and the new style of coaching is necessary to get the best out of teams today?

I have hinted before that Ross makes so much $$$ with his other entertainment avenues tied to the stadium, that he may not be too hurt when the Phins don't do well. I can't think of any other reason as to why he cares so little what the fan base supports. Some fans disagree with me, but if he really is trying to win a title and be competitive, then he may not be as smart an NFL business man as some think.

The record the last couple years, 11-6 in 2023, is as deceiving as the Broncos record this year. The Broncos were 1-7 vs teams over .500. all their wins came against bad teams. This is the illusion of success now in the NFL, minus some really good teams like the chiefs, ravens, eagles....the fins wins in 23 and 24 were all against teams under .500, excluding the Cowboys and Rams, and the Rams I believe were 1 game under at the time. In fact, the dolphins schedule last year included some of the worst teams in the league. When we evaluate the team, we should take all factors into account. Ross can look at the surface value of wins and in his mind, like Grier, blame injuries for the 8-9 record this year, but it's false. The team and roster hasn't been as strong as some would say. The coaching has been awful. After 3 years of McDaniel and Grier team up, those two saying this year was inexcusable, well, they are responsible for most of it for roster decisions and coaching and saying they're gonna fix it it now is ludicrous. They're the ones that screwed it up, so why would we think they can fix it. And why would we think McDaniel can be a head coach to young talent? He can't change his personality. Or Grier for that matter. They are both pushovers. It's a toxic, enabling relationship between Ross, Grier and McDaniel. 2025 is already a failure.

All I know is that Huizenga (may he rest in peace) wanted to make the Dolphins a winner again, but he could not duplicate his Florida Marlins success. Mostly because he did not hit the lotto on a GM like he had in Dave Donbrowski on the baseball side. After Mr. H sold the Marlins, Jeffrey Loria destroyed that organization. Ross is our NFL Jeffrey Loria. The sucking will be lingering and painful.

Tyreek saying he needs to do what's best for his family is ridiculous. He got paid already, and got his deal reworked prior to 2024 so there was more guaranteed money for him going forward. His family is just fine!! His play is what wasn't fine and I will say that wasn't all his fault. The guy is a hell of a WR but is a narcissist with a 2 cent head. I get it he's frustrated but there are alot of people frustrated and now he left his coaches and team mates hanging an having to answer questions about his comments cause of his inability to be a grown up. He never should of had that Captain C on his jersey. There are people out there that will just make excuses for him that he is just trolling everyone and the jokes on us but this crap is getting old. Not to mention he posts his face on the body of Antonio Brown on his account like its a joke I guess?? Why in the hell would you want to make a post about having anything to do with that guy... are you trying to hurt your potential trade value or any destination you would potentially like to go??
