Lockheed Martin’s The Quarterly - Q4 2023 Highlights

We're advancing defense tech for 21st Century Security. Milestones achieved in the last quarter of 2023 demonstrate our continued efforts to push innovation and keep our customers ahead of ready.
“Our solid finish to 2023 and full-year results reflect continued strong demand for our all-domain portfolio of advanced defense tech solutions. Backlog reached a record $160.6 billion and sales increased 2 percent year-over-year to $67.6 billion,” said Lockheed Martin Chairman, President and CEO Jim Taiclet. “In 2023 we invested $1.5 billion in research and development and an additional $1.7 billion of capital expenditures to create, accelerate and refine the development of innovative 21st Century Security capabilities. In line with our expectations, we generated $6.2 billion of free cash flow for the year, supporting strong free cash flow per share growth, and we returned over $9 billion to shareholders through dividends and share repurchases.

They are not based, they try to get an overlook view of things by taking of the ground & make an elevated foundation - called the sky - all the way from the bottom Scaffolding to the very top & edge of where broken boundaries can take you - when you have to break them (Future plans, why not let the pilot take a safe-route through space itself?) xD

I like the Northrop Grumman B-21 Raider more than the F-35. Since Northrop Grumman is the only one with a six-generation aircraft, Why isn't Lockheed Martin designing and building their six-generation aircraft? The report states that a B-21 could fly 2,500 miles (4,000 km) without refueling while carrying more munitions as compared to the maximum 930 miles (1,500 km) range of the RAAF's F-35 fighter jets, which require air-to-air refueling. A single B-21 can also deliver the same impact as several F-35As.

You are comparing apples to oranges, obviously a long range stealth bomber is going to have greater range and a higher payload compared to a fighter. Also, fighter aircraft generations are exactly that, fighter jet generations. Northrop Grumman calling the B-21 Raider a sixth generation aircraft is sales speak. The B-21 Raider is probably very good at what it was designed for, and the F-35 is very good at what it was designed for.

@@johnbean9797 The thing you have to consider is. I would rather fly in a B-21 since it likely has a bed for the pilots to sleep on, maybe a microwave and food on the bomber, and a place you can use the restrooms. Number 1 and two restrooms are needed since the inside of the bomber will be so big. If you have to use the restoom on a F-35, I mean Number 2. You're out of luck, and you can't land the jet fighter, so you'll have to hold it, and you can't eat on a F-35 if you're hunting. This is off-topic. But I admire the F-35, and I would never want to fly it.
