The fluid drive is a great transmission to teach someone how to drive a stick. Even if you pop the clutch, the torque converter takes over and keeps the engine running. You actually use the clutch to shift between gears, but if you are lazy or are in a traffic jam, (assuming everything is adjusted correctly) simply press the brake, come to a complete stop, when you are ready to go again, step on the accelerator as you would with an automatic. Since you are starting in 3d, the acceleration will be Mercedes diesel slow, but eventually you will reach speed. I was given a 1950 Dodge coronet for college, and it was a hoot.

Always good to see restoration in progress! Keep going. Next Nolan locks himself in a paint booth, while he strips, primes, and Paints. After much needed rust hole repair

This feels like any project every had. It all feels like a race against daylight to get everything done. Even when in reality I didn't have a time limit, it always felt like Nolan seems to here.. the work's just never gonna end

proud of Nolan. these old cars like this aren't the easiest to work on, especially if it hasn't driven in 15 years+. hard work pays off, and now he can finally fix the interior and paint

Happy to see this project coming along. Staff builds is way better to watch then lists and cheap gadget reviews. IMO I'd put some more $ into it. Tint the windows, wheels and tires, airbag system. Upgrade all the hardware, lines, anything component wise that hasn't been done. Paint it flat black and redo the chrome trim copper or gold. Keeping the patina is also another way to go, but I'd treat any and all rust areas to prevent future rust, then clear coat it matte a bunch of times to protect what's there from future sun damage and damage from the elements. I'd also suggest power washing under the car then treating the bottom with a fresh coat of paint and sealer. After that sound system, engine etc. You got yourself a life long project car that you can pick away at. We all want updates.

Would've loved it this was made into a full series with each day being it's own episode instead of a 13 minute video of the whole process. Congrats on getting the car running.

i think this was better form. in reality if each day was one episode then most that you would see would be nolan trying to get rusted bolts loose and then they break and then he has to drill old bolts out.

The editing of this video right off the bat was amazing. You guys seamlessly transitioned from the intro to the content without fluf. I didn't even mind watching the sponsors' section. Any other KZbin video of a build like this would have taken 15 minutes of mansplaining just to get to the actual work and would have included ridiculous unnecessary ramblings of the worker as they filmed themselves in their shop or filler content of like their dog walking around. All that to say: good job donut. thanks for another professional and entertaining video.
