Lockly Vision Unboxing, Install Demo and Thoughts

Just installed mine, I realize your video is 3 years old. Newer models come with lock sensor integrated into the bolt plate and magnet inside strike plate, another upgrade is the camera def is now HD 1080. Quite easier than I thought install and app set up. Small downside is that video and voice are quite delayed, still manageable. Now that I've installed my Vision lock I realize it will be time soon to repaint the door haha. I got a good deal on amazon for a bronze model (prob not much demand for that color) at 299, that is significantly lower than a vision elite which has the motion detection and night time camera which i'm sure is a nice upgrade. I had read that you couldn't call the camera that is untrue you can call up the video anytime you want. All in all I'm happy with my purchase for a model that is already several years old. I had to do something since I had threatened my kids I would screw the front door shut if they forgot 1 more time to lock it haha...

Hello. Did yours come with 6 pin cylinder. I do not see it in mine and also Was TF card was already in it. I can not tell if there separate tf card or If it is already inserted

Their deadbolts use a 6 pin cylinder. If you get one of their latch models those have 5. The Connect Hub includes a 16GB card.

Awesome review, Rob! Looks like an excellent product. I'm a bit curious on battery life, though. 4 AA batteries aren't exactly a massive store of energy. Could be rather annoying if they die every three months. Any idea if Lockly plans to support Apple's new digital key features? Be really neat if the door simply locked or unlocked when you approached.

There are 8 batteries total: 2 rows of 4, I mentioned it , but I don't think the camera was rolling for it. Not sure about digital key. It does have the app unlock feature, but not quite the same thing.

Do people actually press that tiny door bell button? My experience is that half of the delivery drivers don’t even see my normal electric door bell which is way bigger (even with a sign saying Ring Bell stuck next to it). They still knock the door.

So far it’s 50/50. I have an electronic doorbell already that is larger and more obvious. I would try removing it but it has a really great tune when they ring it

So agree! People continuously ignore our "Ring" bell. I think the minute a bell includes anything but a button (a camera in the Ring case), folks don't want to "mess with it". We have a 50/50 take-rate on the "Ring", so my estimate would be 10% on this one. I really wanted this because of its form-factor but decided against it because of the bell issue.
