This particular lock would have been much more difficult to pick without the key, since it took the key to find out that the shackle needed to be pushed down to open it in the first place. That, coupled to the unique tensioner required, and eight levers, cutting the lock would be the logical course to open it in a timely fashion... in short, without having the key, I think a lot of lock pickers would have thrown in the towel on this one...

@lulzmoose people use the tools and techniques that work the best to achieve the desired result. There's nothing special in lock picking, it's just one of the methods, and sometimes it is still the best - like in appartment buildings with thick metal doors with armored cylinders and multi-point locking mechanisms. Angle grinding, drilling and hammerring for 5-10 minutes just isn't a very safe option.
@NJ-wb1cz6 жыл бұрын
@lulzmoose but the overall trend is towards dumbing down because most of the smart thieves become bankers, executives and hedge fund managers. And also due to the fact that the tools are getting ridiculously good and affordable. Like hydro bolt cutters and wireless angle grinders, for example.

I personally would rather watch a longer clip with all the facts from start to finish & how you approach a lock. Not just after you have mastered it.

You should try picking it while it's hanging from a door. I believe that makes it a lot harder.

This is not a Lock...this is Childhood Memory😍😍😍 thanks LPL for including this iconic lock from India...😋😋 (This was also a subsitute for hammer dur to its sheer size and bulkiness..but that's a different matter)

Your locks need updating. Try downloading the newest drivers to keep your padlock secure. Booty pics is fine too, increases the immune system of the lock.

Yes we do have that type of locks and sometimes we can't even open that with the key so we try to put some coconut oil to smooth out.

In India, sometimes you can walk up & start someone's scooter with your scooter key! Also, in US , I once accidentally open and sat down inside someone's Nissan and then recognized it wasn't my car!

Till date i haven't found a more feature-filled door-self-lock (rim) than the Classic Godrej Night Lock (8 levers) which i have used since 1970s. It doesn't hv a self-lockout feature though, but it makes a lot of sense for kids and maids who won't be given a key when leaving. Sold for $10 to $15 ! It's impossible to break-in with auto-deadlock feature but ofcourse pickable by an expert.

It's used everywhere in india.. From the roadside kirana shop to the President's office. I've seen this type of locks in several government offices in many states of India.
