I agree, glad you do wash the edge control out each time you use it. Edge control promotes concrete buildup, seriously. I can tell when my customers have used it because their new growth all over requires two full 4 point rotations on all other locs until I get to the edges

Thank you for the great information, your hair is gorgeous and looks so healthy. I wished I had done my sister lots sooner I love them sooooo much, my husband didn’t like it when I started my journey but I let him know honey I’m out being disrespectful but I did this for me, he said well I guess you told me yep I did and to put the icing on the cake two beautiful young girls followed me around the grocery store and asked me how did I start my locks and how beautiful they are, I was so happy and grateful that my hair was complimented with my hubby there. I hear you on the representation, I think the lack of that we see is because many “natural” care products aren’t suitable for locs. At least that’s what loc gurus say about the products 🤷🏾‍♀️

Thank you so much for leaving this comment =) I definitely see that as being a case in some instances, at the same time many of these big brands like Carols Daughter, Alikay Natural's, Shea Moisture, Cantu, and others have body care lines now. If they truly believe that none of their products will work for locs, I would like to at least see some of us in advertisements for their body care lines. Also, your profile pic is so bomb. It looks so creative and cute !

Yes with the high bun! I wear a bonnet. No edge control for me (yet). The tiniest bit of wild growth hair oil when my scalp is itchy and dry.

Thank you so much. I LOVE using eucalyptus in the shower! You can also add a few drops of eucalyptus oil to the bottom of a shower to get a calming eucalyptus scent throughout your shower.

Kind unrelated to the video lol but do you feel after you get a retightening your forehead looks bigger than usual? I’ve only been lock since July 2020, so I’m still getting used to seeing myself with locs. And because I’m not used to all my edges being snatched up in a loc (not tightly) lol it feel like my forehead looks huge. And then as weeks go by, it’s not as bad because the new growth is coming in. But it freaks me out because I’m thinking is my hairline moving back? 🤔 or is she just getting all my edges lol

That's really interesting, so I have had people retighten my locs too tight, to the point that I had a cut in my head. I would say trust your intuition. Maybe you could share your concerns with your loctician, or you could see another loctician and ask for their opinion on the situation.

Where I live, finding good loc products is near impossible. The range at the stores is virtually non existent and the loc brands We see have to be bought from other countries so shipping and customs is through the roof. I look forward to the day where I can walk into the store with an aisle full of loc products 😿
