If you do end up wanting a closet door without pinched fingers , I turned all my children’s closet door knobs backwards once my son could open doors bc he would wreck his closet , & I keep his toys that are waiting to be rotated back out in the closet, the knobs come with a key that I leave on top the trim of the door , it’s so nice specially when other kids come visit to not have a closet wrecked every time

I've been waiting for the perfect moment to relax and watch this video. My four month old was having a really rough day, and after hours of consoling, hosting people, doing laundry, and tidying the house, I can finally climb under the covers with my tea and watch without interruptions as my baby sleeps soundly. This is my little luxury, so thank you Delilah 🤍

I’d LOVE an update on the no fold method. I seriously think this would make my life so much easier but it kills me to see kids in wrinkly clothes and my perfectionism also wants to fold them. Luckily my daughter doesn’t ever take her clothes out, so it’s not too bad but still, probably will happen at some point and minimizing my laundry chore would be encouraging to do it more! Haha
@lacoccin3lla
@lacoccin3lla Жыл бұрын
I know I’m not Delilah but I practice this method as well because otherwise I would never get laundry done. I personally use a cube shelf in the closet and bins to sort between tshirts tanks tops shorts pants swim pajamas etc. I find the key to not getting wrinkles is really not to overstuff the bins. It might be different if you prefer to dress your kid in nicer outfits and button downs but for the most part my kids wardrobe is t shirts and shorts. Super casual and anything nicer I will hang but I don’t keep more than a couple nice outfits for whatever size he’s in as it’s just not our lifestyle. 😊
@ChloeJ1999
@ChloeJ1999 Жыл бұрын
I’m exactly the same as you! Instead of a no-fold method, I opt for a minimal fold method. I literally just fold the kids shirts in half and then lay it in the drawer. That way, their tops don’t get wrinkled, and it takes me a minimal amount of time to put laundry away.

I use the 'no fold' method with my daughter, and the aim is to teach her to look after her clothes, but right now she is almost 4 and teaching her to put away her own clothes, without the pressure of folding, seems to be the best place to start. Loved the video, I'm really enjoying your decluttering series. ❤

I've been participating to a church meeting for couple recently, and the priest of my church (catholic in France) awared us on our standards of living which he found very high. He said at 30, you don't have to own the full equipment. And seeing you decluter all this stuff always remember me how important minimalism is in our society where we own everything and even more ! 😮😊

I do the no folding system for clothes too and it’s such a relief! They grab their clean hamper, sort items and throw them in their drawers. It’s so simple and the kids can manage it themselves. They are 5 and 6. Sometimes my 6 year old decides to fold his clothes himself, and most of the time he doesn’t! So he’s still learning to fold all on his own. It’s great. I love this series!

This series was sooo good and satisfying to watch. I’ve watched many of your decluttering and cleaning videos and they were a huge inspiration to me to do the same in my home. Lately I’ve been watching a lot of KZbin shorts of people organizing drawers and closets and such so I’ve been going to Dollarama and Homesense for some clear bins (easier to see what I have) and organize just about every room in my home. My poor husband just rolls his eyes now when he sees me come home with bins and/or baskets lol 😂. Oh, but what a difference it has made in our home! I feel so much lighter and calm now that all the extra stuff is gone and what remains is well organized. I attacked our closet, all bathrooms, kitchen and linen closet. Thank you again for these videos! They have been a big help. 🤗💚

I can't imagine having all that storage space. But again it has been a long process and you have 3 kids. I'm just going to appreciate the one room i have with my 2 kids now alhamdulilah 2!!! I'm so blessed. It will be worth waiting for our own space as a family whenever we get to have the freedom to have an empty house and empty storage space leaving half a closet empty is definitely the way i want to live. Better have less tahn the storage space no need to fill it all up.

Just a tip in our girls room we removed the closet door as it was a literal door and it swung out into the room and it just took up space needing clearance for it to open so we used a tension rod and curtain to cover the closet and it’s super cute and kind of hides the contents of the closet

You did a great job, Delilah, on decluttering. I was wondering when you would stop folding all those clothes over & over. I remember doing it too for a while, but finally, I had to just let them fold their own clothes or just let them be unfolded. When mine were a little older they washed their own clothes also. It helped me a lot! Love this series, but I would like it not to be so fast when we see it. Maybe not everything, just a few things, so we know how you say to keep, or to give away or for next babies, etc. Thanks for sharing! ❤🫂

I like the look of the laundry items in the jars, but consider putting the safety info of the package on the jars. I love this series! I would love some advice either from you, Delilah (or any other moms in the comments). I really admire your calm demeanor. You have your plate FULL with 3 kids + 1 on the way, you manage your own business and your home. Things are chaotic for you, but I don't know if it's just for videos, but it seems like you have a sense of peace. I have two kids, almost 3 year old and an 8 month old. I feel like with my 3 year old is always pushing boundaries-- there are so many battles/ power struggles. It could just be her age. Any advice how to remain calm? I do my best to practice gentle parenting. I pray about this almost everyday. I feel like I am a ticking time bomb sometimes! I want to respect my children and myself, I feel like if I yell-- I lose. Thanks in advance.

I’m not a mom, but I have struggled with staying calm in my life. I think you should first, give yourself grace because you obviously really care about being a good mom! I’m sure you’re doing your best. For me, the biggest change was realizing the narrative I had about myself was that I was “passionate” or “no nonsense”. Well it translated to being reactive and aggressive. I saw it in other people and didn’t like it. I realized I could be different if I chose to be. It still pops out, don’t get me wrong 😅 but it has made a difference for me

Just an idea: take all the drawers out and get some rods and just hang everything it's faster to hang than to fold, you can see everything and it's easy to access too (mini wooden rods where the drawers are)

Decluttering is one of my favorite things. Question, why do you have so many hangers in your first closet you showed in this video? Are there usually clothes on them or no? Is it weird that my kids each have just a pair of flip flops and a pair of sneakers and that's it (and it's been that way up through their teen years)? I looked for boots this year, but our snow did not stick more than a day ever. I am glad that you showed your mud room as it is. It was fun to watch how you sorted things in there. The jars and baskets look great. I LOVE it. We had our kids clothes in their closet stored similarly to what you are doing now too, but recently we got them a dresser because my oldest son wears men's sizes now and they weren't fitting in the closet storage unit any longer O.o Loving this series!
