Thanks so much, Marty! I'm getting hooked on this whole firewood thing. Probably because trees are dropping like flies around here, LOL!

Wow! After seeing your tractor and implements I’m inspired to dig out the pressure washer and go to work on ours at this end. As always, a great video. I’m not in the woodsplitting business - yet. But I learned a ton.

Somehow, Howard, I keep getting hooked on things that actually involve more work!😂

Good day John, very nice upgrades. I don't think my little splitter could handle a 4 way wedge, but your table arrangement is giving me ideas. I'd love to guess but I have no idea. Looking forward to the next video. Have a good one, Ben 👍

Thanks so much , Ben! It's been a lot of fun hearing everyone's suggestions! I think my goal is to take this machine as far as I possibly can on my own. Depending on how the firewood business goes, I might be looking at a commercial one down the road.

Nice add-ons for your log splitter. They will definitely enhance your splitting productivity. A log loader and a handling side mount and your off to the races. Not sure what type of valve is currently on the splitter but I was thinking that a high performance one for a faster splitting cycle. Have a great week John!

Looking good John. I would be putting the shelf to the left of where you stand. Like you mentioned. And I’d be putting a shelf across from you to hold rounds standing up. Or a hydraulic log lift. I kinda think that’s what you contemplating. I also would hold a piece up with my left hand and centre it to the four way to speed things along too. Have a great day. 👋👋👍🏻👍🏻

I have virtually the same identical splitter, a Northstar sold by Northern Tool. I really like your improvements.. you have peaked my interest as I also was interested in figuring out an end table. I also like the 4 way slide on wedge. Maybe an inch lower? Just nitpicking on that suggestion, I guess it’s all about the size of your average rounds anyway….

@philliphall5198 Thanks for watching and for your comment, Phillip! Honestly, I was brought up to take care of things that way, and I'm grateful for it.

Looks great John. I'd guess log lift/lifts. I'm planning on building a nice splitter myself. I want it set up like yours, bit the tongue on the other end, not that it matter because I want it to be self propelled, but able to be towed at rd speeds if needed. I'd also like dual log lifts so I can work from either side. A large outfeed table is also needed for unloading into tue bucket of the tractor but not so large splits won't push off if piled up so I can keep moving down a pile of rounds if working by myself.still unsof the wedge style (traditional 4 way or boxed wedge). I already have a 22hp motor so I can have electric start and lights since lots of times it's dark when I want to split in the winter. A 15gal tank and radiator with a fan, overkill, but it came with the rad and tank purchase 😅. I also have an exmark mower with a blown engine that can be a donor for pumps and hydros to make it self propelled. Just need to get more finished on the barn, and then I'll sell the two standard splitters I have and get started.

Brett, I can only imagine that if you are conceiving of it and building it yourself, it will be a masterpiece. Make sure you put it on your channel!

@thebradleysoncatbirdhill6849 will do, just need to get this barn wrapped up. Sanding a bit of drywall mud in the 12x24 shop area at the moment. Can't wait to start moving some things in here like my square grinders, raker grinder, and my round grinders. It's 67 in here right now and the 1500 watt electric heater isn't even running and it hasn't in a while now. I noticed that husky sign in yours, I think I have the same one. I'll build a frame for it and then light it and hang it in the main portion of the barn. Have a great evening sir.
