Hugh Jackman's Logan roar in the climax after killing a soldier to a tree has got to be the best roar that he has ever done. *Facts about X-23/Laura:* Creator Craig Kyle described her as quote "Pinocchio for Marvel Comics, she's a samurai sword trying to become a real little girl". Unlike Logan, who had already lived a long life before he became weapon X, X-23 never had a normal life, she was literally born and bred for one purpose, and one purpose only, to kill. And she didn’t originally come from the comics, she debuted in the cartoon X-Men Evolution in 2003. In the comics she had already killed enough people to be considered one of the deadliest women in the world before she met Wolverine, and that was when she was a child. Also she only has Adamantium on her claws and not the rest of her skeleton because she was still a small child at the time and the plan was to wait for when she was a full adult because otherwise she wouldn’t have grown into her body. So while she’s not as durable as Wolverine her healing factor is actually faster and she’ll never have to worry about Adamantium poisoning because the small amount on her claws won’t be enough to affect her in the long term.

There is, of course, some debate amongst the fans on this because of specific details, but Mangold himself has said that Logan's death here was directly alluded to in The Wolverine when Yukio said she'd seen Logan's death - "I see you on your back (obvs pinned to the uprooted log). There's blood everywhere (because his healing factor was broken and he'd had a massive rage fight). You're holding your heart in your hands (Laura, by this point, and become his metaphorical heart because he loved her so much). It's the perfect ending to this Logan's story, too. So much violence, and blood, and anger, but also so much sadness, and comfort, and love, and softness...just beautiful.

Laura was not made as a clone but born as the genetic daughter of Sarah and Logan. Laura was raised as a a hired assassin by a man named Zander Rice, but after Laura tells Sarah she doesnt want to kill anymore, Sarah gives her a task to destroy all remaining weapon x clones. but during her escape from the lab she was exposed to a trigger scent by Zander Rice sending her into a berserker rage accidentally killing Sarah. but Sarahs last words were her giving X23 the name Laura, to let her know she's not just some thing or experiment, that she has some humanity to hold onto.

Knowing Logan has not only lived one tragic life, but many, due to his slow aging, makes his life….or lifetimes I should say, all the more tragic. How he is even able to mentally function at all, after all the tragedy and death he’s seen is nothing short of a miracle. And also shows just how good of a heart he has, that he even has the ability to care after all these decades of loss and hate.

I just realized on this watching.... that poor little girl is in for so much pain. Her bones are covered in adamantium and thus won't be able to grow anymore. But they're gonna try, and they're gonna hurt like hell.... Also, in case it wasn't obvious by the end, Logan's being poisoned by his adamantium, in combination with the anti-mutant additives in food and drink. The combination has reduced his healing factor significantly, causing him to start to show his age, as well as not healing anywhere near as quick from wounds. The only part that I'm not sure about is Logan can withstand headshots because of his regeneration. He can regenerate from being completely vaporized, so long as a single cell remains, so X-24 should have regenerated too, albeit with a hole in his adamantium skull plating.

I've always liked the final Logan death scene as far as dying on camera performances goes. but not until this rewatch have i noticed how incredible Hugh Jackman's performance really is, not just the dying, but the fact he had to sell the death of an ICON, the MAIN Character of 10+ films. Truly I do not know how many Character Deaths match up in that sense idk im high but this makes sense to me lol

Fan of the X-Men movies and love that this one went for an updated Western type film, really gritty and violent but throughout and definitely at the end tugs at our hearts

Actually what Logan meant when he said "this is what it feels like" is actually a reference to the Wolverine movie just before this. A mutant who can tell people's future told Logan that he would die with his "heart in his hand". Which he did. His daughters hand. And yes it also had the double meaning of him finally knowing what it feels like to have a family and children and a normal life if even for a few hours.

Fantastic movie!! 👍😎👍 When this came out I was helping take care of my 98yo grandmother 😢 The scenes with Charles dealing with dementia REALLY hit too close to home 😢 NGL I wept in the theatre at mutliple points during this movie 💔😭

So this is what it feels like - Some people think that he is referring this for having a family and accepting Laura because the film had a theme of family and togetherness the entire time but some people and myself think that he is referring to the feeling of dying because he had a little glimpse of the meaning of Love and family from before but he is alive for more than 200 years and everybody he cares about died before him so it makes more sense that he is talking about dying at least this is what I felt when I watched it for the the first time in theatre.
