You may have missed the end / mid credit scene from X-Men The Last Stand, where Xavier's voice can be heard in a hospital. You also may have forgotten the scene from X-Men Apocalypse where time was changed and Charles did not die.

Great reaction Sessis like always! This movie hits really, really hard, in a number of different ways. I think that's why everyone loved it so much. That and the acting and writing in this was magnificent. As soon as Laura said, "Daddy," everyone in the theater broke. A lot of people that grew up with Hugh Jackman as Logan were teary eyed because he played him for 17 yrs at this point I think and it was the end of Wolverine's story so to speak. Far as I know Marvel is leaving this movie alone and not letting anything change its direction due to high respect for Jackman. Reynolds even said so in one of the trailers for Deadpool/Wolverine. Patrick Stewart and Hugh Jackman were sitting beside each other at the premiere, and Stewart said he noticed Hugh wipe away a tear, so he stopped fighting and allowed himself to do the same. Two legends appreciating the incredible send-off they gave their iconic characters. Dafne Keen the amazing young actress who played Laura is the daughter of British Actor Will Keen and Spanish actress María Fernández Ache. Maria was Dafne’s chaperone on set, and in the scene where Laura and Logan have the fierce argument in the car the director encouraged both performers to ad lib. After the scene was filmed Hugh Jackman, who has a daughter of about the same age, felt a bit uncomfortable about shouting and swearing so much at a child so went up to Dafne’s mom to make sure Dafne was okay.. “Don’t worry” said Maria, “she called you a c**t three times in Spanish in that last scene”. Do you remember in The Wolverine movie Yukio said that Logan will die having blood everywhere and holding his heart in his hand ? and he died the same way having his daughters hand in his hand. Keep up the good work

Dear Sessis: You have to watch the post-credit scenes of The Last Stand AND The Wolverine. If you have missed or neglected to watch these post-credit scenes then you will not know what is happening to Professor X. And internal scene in The last stand helps to set up the sencerio. Also the entire movie Xmen Apocalypt deal with the concept of body transfer.

this one is based off the old man logan comics. the timelines are a bit confusing. there are so many comics. this movie is based off 3 different comics though. cuz there is one where they put the cure in the grain. which confused me when they showed the farm.

This is an excellent sad movie. Xavier and Logan both deserve better, so part of me tucks this away as an "alternate reality" rather than what "actually" happened -- but, then again, Logan's story at least has always been a tragedy. A happier ending for him would probably be . . . incongruous. And too much to ask for. 😔

Not an exact match but in The Wolverine, Yukio tells Logan that she saw him die. He was lying on his back and there was blood everywhere, and that he was holding his own heart in his hand. It was not beating. If they had left that last sentence out, it would have matched up perfectly.

Charles is alive as this is meant to be a standalone sequel to Days of Future Past where things were fixed. This is supposed to be an R-Rated film as intended; it does kinda feel a bit ridiculous at this point to not expect the gore and violence when it comes to Wolverine at this point. You questioned the direction of this, the director did actually do a previous film, which was The Wolverine back in 2013, so he knew where to go with this one. Logan said earlier on in the first scene with Charles that all the other X-Men were long gone due to age as this is set in the far future; this is set in 2029 where no mutants have been born for 25 years and Logan is already hundreds of years old. Some also died from one of Charles's telepathic seizures which took the lives of several of the members. The Logan clone was the experiment that the recording was talking about, to create a super weapon with no soul, just to kill.

You definitely have to watch the Deadpool series. Deadpool and wolverine put an amazing cap on the Fox Mutant-verse. I can safely say without any irony that all three Deadpool movies are amazing. And since you've watched all the X-Men you would definitely get all the in jokes. However you may need to watch the Loki TV series first before Deadpool and Wolverine. Also this was supposed to be Hugh Jackman's last time playing wolverine That's why it was so dark. It wasn't until Deadpool became a hit that they were able to get him back for Deadpool & Wolverine.

Slightly confused as to why you thought that Charles was dead? Did you watch this before Days of Future Past? He as alive at the end of that movie which takes place long after The Last Stand where he gets killed by Jean, and he was alive at the end of The Last Stand because in the credit scene he transferred his consciousness in his twin brother, who was in a coma for many years. I know you were also confused in Days of Future Past as to why he was alive then too, that would be why. Seems you missed that credit scene, and also forgot about Days of Future Past. About watching Deadpool - The Deadpool movies are arguably what people want to see most from this franchise, they are probably the most popular of all of the X-Men movies, I suppose you didn't know that. You can watch the first 2 Deadpool movies after Logan, but you will want to get through the MCU franchise before watching the 3rd Deadpool movie, that is *very* important... since it involves Deadpool being incorporated into the Disney Marvel (MCU) franchise and you will therefore not understand many things from it unless you do. Long story short, in 2019 Disney bought 20th Century Fox, who made the X-Men movies, so the Disney Marvel Studios that makes the Avengers (MCU) movies got the rights to the X-Men character back. Originally Fox bought the rights to the X-Men characters back in the 90's when Marvel was struggling financially and they sold off the rights to a bunch of their characters. That's why the Avengers (MCU) movies and the X-Men movies never had any connection, even though they all are Marvel. That is changing now. So yeah, to be clear, if you haven't seen the MCU franchise you will need to before getting to Deadpool 3, but first 2 are fine to watch now. Wild to think that Hugh Jackman has been playing Wolverine for 24 years now, was 17 years when this movie came out. And he will be doing so until he's 90.

The confusion comes from I believe that there was two end credits scenes of that movie. One that showed that Charles moved his consciousness. I didn’t know that and ended up missing that scene sadly. So for me he’s been dead since the scene with Jean 😭😅 My memory is also not doing so well with how severe my depression has been. Having a rough time with it.

@@Sessis That's understandable and I don't think it's your fault, it's also difficult when you watch so many movies to remember. If you recall, in Days of Future Past he was alive in the future, where they were being hunted by the Sentinels, then Logan was sent back in time to prevent the sentinels from being created etc, then at the end when they re-write history from the 70's onwards and Logan wakes up in the present, Jean/Scott is alive again and Charles is of course the same Charles from when he went back in time to the 70's, but in present day, and it's also the same Charles in this movie but in 2029 when this movie takes place. So this movie is essentially the future of that altered timeline, I suppose the X-Men were supposed to die no matter what, they die to the sentinel program in the future depicted in Days of Future Past, and they die in this movie because Charles had a seizure some time before the movie starts. Very confusing I know. Many people consider this to be the true ending of the Fox X-Men franchise, the next movies either take place in the present like Deadpool 1 and 2, or are prequels like Dark Phoenix, which just continues with the younger cast that featured in First Class and Days of Future Past. Deadpool 3 (Deadpool & Wolverine) as I explained is the first movie in the Disney MCU/Marvel universe since they took back the rights to the characters, all I say is that they introduce them in a really awesome way, but you definitely need to watch the MCU next to understand, after Deadpool 1/2 but before Deadpool & Wolverine.

I wish someone could have warned you before watching this movie that it is R rated. That already sets it apart from any of the other X-men movies, but the setting is also very dark and depressing throughout basically the whole movie. It is a tough one to watch for sure. The thing about Charles being alive; in X-men The Last Stand Jean as phoenix does kill Charles. In the last post credit scene it appears that Charles transferred his consciousness into another body. Apparently the body he transfers into was his twin brother who was brain dead The dilemma of doing something like this is brought up earlier in the movie as a study case when Charles is teaching a class. Also in Days of Future Past they change the entire timeline. At the end we see Jean and Scott alive again as well. For a first time viewer it can be really confusing to remember everything that happened in all of these movies and in what order. I think nobody is expected to keep it all straight the first time through. I hope your next reaction will be to an uplifting and fun movie to cheer you up a bit!

​@@Sessis It's a newer show actually. The original show ran for 5 seasons starting in 1992. 27 years later, they have released another season and it is very highly reviewed and praised. The new season does make references to the original show, but it's also very friendly to people who didn't see the original show, being quick with references and explaining necessary things as it goes along. Iron Man, Hulk, Fantastic Four, and Silver Surfer, Spider-Man animated series all started airing from 94-97, but X-Men and Spider-Man were the most popular and all the others discontinued pretty quickly. They were considered to be interconnected and occasionally crossed over but mostly stuck to telling stories about their main characters. With the release of X-Men 97, many people have started requesting the return of Spider-Man and the next season of X-Men 97 as soon as possible. Between Spider-Man and the X-Men, I tended to favor Spider-Man slightly more, but it was very close in favoritism. X-Men did grand dramatic story arcs over time and Spider-Man was more villain of the week while blending in long arcs of story. A few people insist the first 5 seasons should be seen prior, it's really a lot of episodes though. There's at least a couple dozen reactors who enjoyed X-Men 97 as it was and a couple went on to see the original series afterwards, like the Cinepals, Heroes Reforged did the series original series prior to the release of 97. Anyway that is the context behind my asking for X-Men 97. If you ask people about it, they'll tell you much the same and agree you should check it out, but what else they say may vary. Hey, Sessis! Your Xavier question was answered in the end-credit scene of "X3: The Last Stand"! Multiple commenters have replied to you about this on multiple videos! You didn't seem to recognize Caliban from "Apocalypse"! He was Psylocke's underworld employer played by Tomas Lemarquis. Different actors, same character! "Shane", the movie they watch in the hotel, is an incredibly famous Western with an iconic ending. This movie mirrors its symbolism and referencing it foreshadowed the ending. "Logan" was rated R! The success of "Deadpool" made it possible to produce an R-rated superhero film. Fans had clamored for this since Wolverine is savage in the comics! The previous films had toned him down dramatically! The movie is based on three graphic novels: "Old Man Logan" written by Mark Millar and illustrated by Steve McNiven, "The Death of Wolverine" written by Charles Soule and illustrated by Steve McNiven, and "NYX" written by Joe Quesada and illustrated by Joshua Middleton. I have mixed feelings about this film. The performances by Stewart and Jackman are superb and altering the source material to make Xavier the cause of the team's destruction is a brilliant choice. The Xavier seizures are intense and Wolverine gets to finally cut loose showcasing unfettered versions of their power sets! Having Wolverine confront a feral version of himself is compelling and his sacrifice is powerful. The relationship with X-23 is poignant and funny. Dafne Keen was a revelation and continued to impress in her subsequent roles! Bringing his death into metaphorical alignment with Yukio's vision in "The Wolverine" is a stroke of genius as he dies holding his "heart", Laura, in his hand. The subtle technological advances like automated highways are very creative touches. I loved that they brought an obscure bit player like Caliban back and gave him such a meaty supporting role which Stephen Merchant made a meal of. Donald Pierce's characterization diverged from comic accuracy significantly but Boyd Holbrook's charismatic portrayal was riveting! I loved the introduction of the cyborg Reavers! It's a fitting end to the Fox continuity. My problem is that it renders all the X-Men's struggles meaningless. They are tragically undone by their own founder and leave a legacy of fear behind. It is far too bleak an outlook to accept that they accomplished nothing. Very moving, very sad but a little disappointing. Plus, although the comic "Old Man Logan" could never have been adapted faithfully, I would've loved to see Old Man Hawkeye as well as Logan bursting out of the Hulk's stomach like an "Alien" chestburster! Lol. The death of Wolverine occurs in a different graphic novel entirely. Logan suffers from adamantium poisoning as in the movie because his healing factor is weakening but he gets entombed in molten adamantium in "The Death of Wolverine" roasted and suffocating. Of course, being comics, he returns after a time.
