Nice that you got big cross slide dial and v belt pullies instead of the earlier flat belt setup. Looks great. Congrats

Nice, clear and concise restoration. Good machine too. Greetings.

that looks so good with the paint stripped. A lot of work went into that restoration I'm sure.

Well - i'm back... apparently can't get enough of this build. Question: did you use 2k clear or just hardware store spray can stuff? Thanks!
@GaryTruesdale Жыл бұрын

Beautiful job, and careful reassembly! Love that raw metal look. May do my 200 the same upon rebuild!

Nice work Gary! I did notice the link belt was installed backwards. They are directional. Perhaps you've discovered it already but thought I'd throw it out there. Good luck, G.

They still exist as a company. It's lathe.com and you can buy reprinted manuals, parts catalogs, and they even have new parts available.

I've been wanting to build a motor-mount bracket like you have, how has it held up with vibration? I hate the floating post that it came with.
@GaryTruesdale Жыл бұрын
It was part of the lathe when I acquired it. Its heavy and well made. No issues. Good luck with your lathe.

Love it. It looks like you wirebrushed everything super clean? I have the 1820 , the 10", I guess yours is the 11"?
@GaryTruesdale2 жыл бұрын
I think its 11. It's pretty solid but it still needs some tuning. I have a Turret style tailstock I need to get tooled and running. And I have a collet setup. This machine has all the trimmings, I need to get at it.

Gary - beautiful work. Curious - how has the bare metal held up to the elements? Doesn't look to have any clear coat on it - juts stripped? Has rust been an issue?
@GaryTruesdale3 жыл бұрын
Thank you, I clear coated everything and no rust. I'm looking at this machine right now and I have two feet of other projects piled on it. That's my big problem.
@Charlieman.3 жыл бұрын
@@GaryTruesdale Oh - I so understand... Thanks for taking the time to respond. Any chance you could outline briefly the process you used for stripping, preying for clear, and what clear you used? I didn't realize clear would stick to bare metal. This vid deserves even more views. Very unique/cool solution.

Hey Gary, nice Logan lathe you have where's the paint did it come stripped ? You might already know this but if you have questions about or need parts you can call Scott Logan at Logan Actuator co.they are still in business. Scott is a nice guy and helped me over the phone fix a problem i had with my back gear on my model 200.
