LOGAN MOVIE REVIEW - Hugh Jackman and Patrick Stewart are back and this is probably their last one as they settle off into the sunset! It's 2017 and we have yet another X Men movie but with the trailer getting tons of people talking, especially with the song "Hurt" by Johnny Cash, you'd think that by trailer 2 and the final trailer people would just go see the movie, but the X Men franchise has a quality that alternates quite a bit! So with that said, does the ominous soundtrack and tone of the trailers match the movie? We show a clip or two, and discuss the movie in full in this movie review brought to you by the Double Toasted podcast!

Logan was the MOST ALPHA Guy Cry film I've seen in a long time. I wanna eat some steak, stab something and drop mantears. No BS so many Muscle men are in this theater and tearing up. Myself included. Their old channel used to have a lot of subs back when they were a part of spill but it got taken down. They'll gradually regain subs. It's a bit harder to do it now on youtube but as long as they consistently release quality content their fanbase will grow. It is when you realize that TDKs strength was its villain. Everything else is per the norm. I didnt care much about Harvey or Rachel and in the end Batman overcomes Joker. The criticism that idiot white guy gave this movie, its 3rd act can be applied to almost every big movie. Even TDK. Which was my nr 1 CBM until Logan. I felt a lot more watching Logan than I did TDK and that's telling of a great film.

I love that extended unrated edition of "The Wolverine" which is DEFINITELY an R-rated movie. I also would like to debate Korey on comic books being "too similar" these days, but sadly, all I can do right now is make comments on KZbin :'( Also, I don't particularly agree with Korey going with the "this is needed" explanation, especially since I don't agree with the idea that spectacle is inherently bad. Also, "First Class" and "Days of Future Past" were PG-13 films. The reason why "X-men: Apocalypse" was bad was because it was a bad movie. I don't think that "rated R" makes it a more "human film".

This movie was amazing. And one that I will probably only EVER watch *once* . I'm not normally emotional during movies (not to say that I'm heartless or don't tear up sometimes; a film has to do a very good job to get my guard down and affect me on a personal or emotional level), but man did this shit, well, _hurt_ . I was honestly kind of reeling for the rest of the night afterwards, had to go get some icecream and watch cat videos on KZbin to feel better :(

This movie is a character drama with a superhero. My cousin hated this because he loves to see Wolverine tearing things up, but THIS movie is more of what I wanted this entire time in comic book movies. It's like the flipside of the equally awesome "Captain America: The Winter Soldier". Winter Soldier's greatest asset was the action, but here the emotion hits like a truck. The fight scenes in "Logan" were good, though. Very visceral.

That's interesting you've mentioned that because the same should've applied to Ang Lee's 2003 adaptation of The Incredible Hulk. Compared to the others, including Edward Norton's portrayal, it was one of the most dramatic attempts at the time. It indulged both into the psyche and suffering of Bruce Banner that have an impact within his personal life in many ways. It's absolutely underrated and could've been amazing had it actually been similar to Logan had we already been introduced to his universe and watched him slowly decline into insanity. Disney could do so much with these characters besides reducing them to comical appeal because their stories have distress and chaos everywhere.

You guys are talking about the original Old man Logan solo issue. But based on the success of that one comic they conyinued with the character and wrote more stories with him, including that one with X-23, which i guess is the inspirations for this one. And it fits perfectly, since X-23 becomes the new Wolverine, just like Jackman is not gonna be Wolverine anymore. The movie serves as a transition, exactly as it did in the comics.

Good movie, though not without glaring problems. The bullet Logan had was clearly a Chekov's gun or whatever and I knew it would be used to Kill X-24. It's never clearly stated what happened in Westchester, no reference at all to the Essex Corp, aka Mr. Sinister. It's a dark, cheerless, undignified end, but a gory, enjoyable ride, regardless. The R is well deserved and much needed. Low full price.
