Almost exactly what the novice music maker needs especially making drumming and bass altogether simply!!!!!!!

Thanks Josh! I especially like building a drum track with MIDI Merge! I can’t always find a kit or loop that goes with my project. Gianni❤

Great tut! thanks for clearing up replace mode for me. Id love to hear the developers thought process on why they think anyone under any circumstance would want to monitor what they are replacing while they are replacing it lol

Actually it can be very helpful if you want to replace a region but want to listen to the timing/feel of the original as you do so. For instance, replacing a sequence of static chords with riffs/arpeggios.

what if a novice person just as i do not have recording system and just have midi library and logicpro and want to do the audio later, what kind of options would i have to make the music outlines?? Just figuring out that drum and bass designs along with the chords are of utmost importance.

Thanks but how do I overlay 2 midi tracks one on each other? The first track gets erased when I do that.I just want the data of both the tracks to combine.

Copy the notes from the piano roll of one MIDI track, then paste it into the other track in the main window.

There’s no cycle recording options on my preferences using 10.1.1 😢

curious: why turn off input quantize when done? hasn't it already done its job and doesn't matter if it is left on? thanks for your great videos!!
@MusicTechHelpGuy Жыл бұрын
The reason why you want to turn it off is because if you don't, then Logic will continue to quantize all new recordings automatically until you turn it off. I actually had to re-do a portion of the video because I forgot to turn it off after my "test run" of the tutorial. So I made a point to mention that you need to turn it off if you don't want to quantize any more.

curious: why turn off input quantize when done? isn't the process complete and nothing further will happen?

What disadvantage does content erase have over region erase? Seems like saving the step of joining 2 regions is a no brainer
@MusicTechHelpGuy Жыл бұрын
There really isn't a disadvantage. I usually just use the first option, because it's set that way by default. If you want to shift the MIDI region around, I guess. At the time of making this video, I was not able to undo my action with content erase. I'm not really sure why, but it does work now. So it must've just been a bug. So yeah, save your self an extra press of the J key and use content erase.
