This is my thoughts as posted above .... "OK Josh, so the question I'd like to ask is ... can you set up scripter to 'not' be controlled by an external knob etc BUT actually have just one automation lane on the track that controls the multiple plugin assignments ? So in effect the automation lane would be scripter which would feed the various assignments as per your video. So how do you set up to a 'virtual controller input knob' ?????"

Wow I didn’t know this was possible in Logic! But is it possible to control 2 knobs of your midi controller assigned to various parameters each? You can do that in Ableton but I’ve always wanted it in Logic. Thanks for this video I really enjoyed it!

very good, thank you-but how can I convert this single controller data from scripter to the individual automationlanes of each plugin?
@legeneralmusic3 жыл бұрын

@florianarndt3 жыл бұрын
Why not simply use the smart controls for this? You can easily assign multiple plug in parameters to a single control and have it listen to the midi input without having to fiddle around with java script 😊

This was my thought process. This is cool to know about, I wonder if people have used both and know any pros / cons to using either or
@lawinter19493 жыл бұрын
hey, if anyone wants to have shaperbox style control of any plugin parameter on Logic inst tracks you can use the same scripter setting and Gatekeeper by Polyverse that outputs midi cc data to do that. Its pretty cool!

I just found this feature after stumbling onto the video. The question I have is let's say you want a buzz or snare roll - is there any way to "lengthen" the time of the role?

Can you talk about the scripter and how to get it to record? I get a lot of orchestral work and I want to use the harpeggiator preset. I can preview it, but when I go to record it or even hear it with the track; it doesn’t seem to work.

Firstly love your vids!! I use Logic Pro and my Akai MIDIMIX seems to communicate with the DAW excellently except for the bank left and bank right buttons. Both the 'pressing' and the 'releasing' of these buttons is recognised as a separate signal. When I'm using banks 1-8 and press and hold 'bank right', it jumps to bank 9-16, then jumps to bank 17-24 when the button is released, effectively going right passed banks 9-16. Likewise for the 'bank left' buttons, but going the other way. I have figured out it could be a midi 'note on/note off' issue and the scripter could be the way to fix this but I don't know how. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Amazing! There aint any chance you can do sth like this to audio is there? 😬 it would safe me hellish amounts of time and especially would make the automation fx on vocals so much more natural

I believe you can make macro controls with the smart controls. That's actually my next video idea if I can figure it out. Would be cool to have macro plugin chains on audio tracks for mixing!

You can save the Scripter setting as a preset AND you can save the entire channel strip including the Scripter as a Patch and it will save EVERYTHING in one shot.

Anyone know how to create sort of an auto sustain pedal? I am creating huge single note piano sound but when I change to the next note it’s difficult to release the sustain for just a split second and then press it fast again to get the sustain to engage immediately. I can go in and draw the pedal in and out exactly where I want it but it would be far better to be able to tell logic to cancel and immediately start sustain at the beginning of each note. This creates kind of a classic ducked reverb effect, but my purposes I don’t want to use ducking, because the sustain on the piano can sound amazing by itself. Anyone?

Question, why are assorted main ch volume slider’s going up to nearly max on random channels on many of my projects? They also bounce around up there, I have tried deleting all automation to no avail! I am Logic Pro x up to date ...
@MusicTechHelpGuy3 жыл бұрын
It's probably your MIDI controller sending erroneous values. I used to have a MIDI controller with a few busted/dirty faders, and it would change values all the time on me. Try unplugging your MIDI controller, or reset all of your controller assignments.
