I've seen several videos, and took a track I recorded several years ago, and Stem Splitter is really good. As with all stem separation, the more reverb, the more susceptible the artifacts. Yet, even some with verbs came out really good. I have some old tracks that I no longer have project files for (some were lost in an SSD crash on my previous MBP), so looking forward to separating some of them and reusing them. Thanks for the demo!

I would use it for learning new songs

Yeah, it’ll be super powerful for creating backing tracks too!

I use it for learning bass parts.

I've tried a few and found that it works remarkably well, though it does seem to give the bass short shrift on some, for example BAND-MAID's "Real Existence", where soloing the resulting bass track is barely audible. Still, it's surprisingly good, and I expect it will only continue to improve.

Wow. I mean, WOW!

I’ve been pleasantly surprised by how good this is. I think the only drawback I can see is that the ‘everything else’ stem can get very crowded. One thing that is very funny is stem splitting a track and then filling it with input from the various session players.

This is a masterful way to demonstrate this new stem splitter function. Concise but still showing 3 completely different types of music. Great video. The only thing I’ve not yet seen any of the reviewers do is to compare the original combined track to the sound of all the extracted stems playing together. I assume they should sound identical, but do they?

Thanks for doing this and thanks for the cool mix of music that you tried it on very cool!

to be fair, on the third test i wouldn’t really understand whether to put the big sound in the “bass” or “other” track either

cool, but you gotta rent it, so should be a no go for every musician. since when do people rent their tools? i am a film maker, i am going to rent my camera? not the direction we want.
@TheLogicProGuide6 ай бұрын
What’s the alternative? A $200 app? As a filmmaker you may well ‘rent’ your editing software though, right? It’s not perfect, but charging $5 a month instead of an expensive one off price lowers the barrier of entry to software like this. It ensures a large user base too.

@@TheLogicProGuide When you don't own something that means that someone else has power over you and your work, they can do what they want with you. They can make it $10 next year and double it again the year after. What will you do then, give up your work because it's too expensive now? Rent enough things and you never have any money at the end of the month. What can they do? Easy.....sell it straight or have payments to own.
