Yet another great lesson from the Logic guru. Almost everything I’ve learnt about Logic over the years has been from this channel. Thanks for all the great content. 👍🏻

Great tutorial. Another quick tip on this one - add an 'empty' note to the group to trigger timed cut-offs.

I just thinks it's great way to re-introduce the power of ULTRABEAT. Thanks MTHG.

I have a few 808 channel strips saved that I made in Alchemy. Now I'm going to make an ultrabeat 808 as well. Didn't know about the stereo spread ability. Will come in handy for sure, thanks!

Totally underrated VI... Looks confusing, but when you get your head around it, its phenomenal.... I use it in every track. If it was Multi platform it'd be revered .

This was a really well done and thorough video. Learned a lot and I thank you so much because gems like this are so hard to come across especially for Logic...

Do you kno how I can do the same thing WITH samples. Whenever I try to drag 808 samples into Ultrabeat they’re not One shot so i can’t get the full sound to play on the sequencer?
@cpottervlog81225 жыл бұрын
Is it possible to do that on the ES2 as well?

Respect on the vid but this is way too much work for the youngins. I dig the idea of making the kit from C0 to C1 and being able to pull it up and alter the sound in each song. Plus producers are making the bassline around the melody so that step sequencer isn't gonna work for them. U'd want to write the bassline in a piano instrument, then drag that pattern down to Ultrabeat instrument.

Some people have patience, some don't. That's on them. When people say 'too much work' -- I equate that to lazy, or just don't want to learn new ways of doing things. And that's fine, to each his/her own. Also, I think your generalizing by saying that producers write the melody before the bass line. I actually do things the exact opposite. I write the chords and bass first. You don't have to use the Step Sequencer to make the bassline, you can use the Piano Roll editor as well, or play it in with your MIDI controller, just like any MIDI instrument. However, I know a lot of aspiring beat makers that have no clue how to play a keyboard, and a step sequencer is more familiar and comfortable for them. Like everything , there's multiple different ways to get to a similar result.

@@MusicTechHelpGuy To your point, not that hard when you're showing someone how to do it, lol. However, I can follow you and I thought it seemed like work. The instrument seems worth the trouble -- the instrument is spot-on, but the step sequencer seems clumsy and counter-intuitive. Like, if your just gonna guess at the notes ... guess on a keyboard. Also, at some point aspiring beat makers should just learn their scales. But you're a beast, bro ... I meant no disrespect.

You can use piano roll with ultrabeat too tho so not sure whatcha mean... what I do alot of times is drag in a basic pattern (from ultrabeat sequencer) then tweak it in piano roll.
