I must commend you regarding the ability you have to explain the Logic Pro X features in a clear and simple way. You have demystified so much already that I can't wait to see what's next, ( one step at a time ). Thank you for sharing your in depth knowledge with all the users. Sincerely John

Scrubbing audio in Logic X means to grab the playhead and move it over selected audio region in order to hear, at the speed you want, a particular drum beat or other audio event before cutting or editing a region. Go to File > Project Settings > MIDI > General and check "Scrubbing with Audio in Tracks." Scrubbing is also automatically made active when you split regions with the Scissors tool in the Tracks area, making it easier to identify the cut position.

Your tutorial series are a great help and you are an excellent teacher. Thank you very much! This is maybe a stupid question, but, @ around 7:40 in this video you have the "text" and "glue" tools selected - however you're still able to select regions (marquee tool), plus your pointer tool is still visible and appears to be functional. I'm puzzled at how you are able to do this magic? Thanks in advance.

Brilliant Vids - You can learn something every time, thanks so much. I'm using 10.3.2 and have a question I can't find on the videos. When I duplicate a track it doesn't duplicate the bus settings? Then when I use cut and past to replace a part of a region it plays back the original section rather than the new even if I delete the new and it shows a blank region, it still plays the original? Is this covered in one of the vids and if yes, which one please? Thanks again. Great job. Brian

Hi, thank you for your video which I watched with interest. I needed some help and hope you could be kind to guide to the right direction. I would like to use an audio file (piano) that need a vocal to be recorded to accompany this audio file. The problem I have is that the audio I have imported is an mp3 file. This piano file is volume is rather low and I would like to make it sound brighter and more treble / bit louder. How do I go about doing it? Correct me if I am wrong, I have imported the file and increased gain then used compress tool on Logic Pro X but noticed that the channel volume keeps playing up and fluctuates so I keep changing it but bar goes yellow. Th audio sound made a little difference not to what I wanted though. Look forward to hearing from you. Many thanks Yash

In version 10.3 hitting the "T" key on the keyboard opens the floating tool menu. It has changed. instead of numbers assigned to a tool there are letters/etc. Might need to do a new video for 10.3 after they patch this to make sure nothing changes.

I have a situation in my logic pro x. I have a preamp duet but I don’t use it as that. I use it as a converter only so I’m not overloading any input. I use external preamps and again I don’t overload the input signal. And on top even any regular loop from the loop menu seems like it is overloaded or distorted. But the weird thing is that none of my tracks or loops sound distorted at all but the view, graphically speaking, says otherwise. Is my DAW corrupted or am I missing any setting option that can help to avoid this view which also doesn’t helping for editing my tracks? Thank you so much for the valuable time you invest for helping us out.

hello ,where in preferrences can I switch LPX from SOLO "latch" mode? I LOVE YOUR VIDS
@GNVideoTests10 жыл бұрын
So here's a question for you. Running LPX on a 13-inch non-retina MBP (my new Retina is on it's way in a fedex box, god I can't wait), but I've noticed that sometimes the amount of info in the track inspector for the virtual instrument I have selected goes up until it's obstructed by the menu drop downs (Region, Group, and Track), even with them collapsed. I'm not sure how, but doing a two-finger swipe isn't scrolling this content so I can get to the top of that content to change instrument etc... Hope that makes sense.
@MusicTechHelpGuy10 жыл бұрын
Other than increasing your screen resolution, there's really no way to fix this. And I'm sure you've already done that. You'll just have to open up the mixer to edit the top of the channel strips (Command-2). Even on my old 2009 MBP at 1440x900, I still have plenty of room.
@GNVideoTests10 жыл бұрын
MusicTechHelpGuy Figured it out (though this is my last week using this machine, go figure), I'd thought that when I selected "scaled" instead of "best for display" and saw the largest resolution automatically highlighted, and closed system pref and saw no change that I was already at largest resolution. Apparently you have to change it to another resolution so it realizes you want to actually change resolutions, then click back to the largest resolution to make the change. All better now.
@GNVideoTests10 жыл бұрын
MusicTechHelpGuy Here's another question for you. I figured out how to get rid of the goofy track icons (with the little "cartoonish" drawings of whatever virtual instrument you're using, etc.) by going to Configure Track Header with a secondary click - is there a way to make no track icons the default setting?

You skipped over the erase tool. Can you use it on audio regions?
@MusicTechHelpGuy Жыл бұрын
The erase tool does exactly what it sounds like it does. It deletes regions (any type). It deletes MIDI notes in the piano roll editor. The most useful thing I find it for is when I need to erase flex time markers. You can click and swipe over flex markers and remove them.
