Cool video buddy! On point 2 Logic audio editing tools (time based edits, looping copying, shifting, etc.) does it the same if not better. (I think you aren’t that fluent with Logic’s feature set in this regard).

@@pushpatterns sure, editing in Logic for example cutting, duplicating, dragging, is a pain in the ass, you need to master key commands and marquee tool. these thing are super easy in Live, and in PT is another story PT originally made for these stuff primarily apart recording to replace tape machine thats why PT is the main tool for engineers, fantastic at editing audio

I found Ableton 7 about 15 years ago and it took me a while to learn it. At that moment I had almost stopped making any music, but soon Ableton revitalized it. I started Midi (and audio) with Logic Audio in mid 90s and back then it was revolutionizing desktop music production. Today, Logic doesn't appeal to me, it looks and feels very entry level software, similar way Cubase felt in mid 90's comparing to Logic Audio. In any case, we are very fortunate to have apps like these, doesn't matter which one we choose.

In regard to sound quality or creativity effects. Logic has similar tools plus more tools that Ableton doesn’t have. Logic is loaded with synths envelopes samplers etc, plus you can go under the hood for advanced sound design tools. I can write a book about the details.

Logic is for pro's recording full band performances. multi-tracking, mixing, editing, mastering. Ableton is for solo artists who are using the DAW to compose. Logic is a lot more modern in its GUI. Ableton is very "Windows" in its layout... folders... left to right. when it comes to value for money..... dont even

Unfortunately, you can't do reliable (sample accurate) multitrack edits in Logic Pro, also you can't really edit drums effectively. That's why we still use Pro Tools. + you can't search for plugins in Logic which is a bummer for a mixing engineer.

As far as double clicking the notes in Logic’s midi editor you can do that as well. There are multiple ways to enter notes. (You are not that fluent with Logic to make a comparison). You can also keep your notes in scale in the pattern editor.
@pushpatterns
@pushpatterns 9 ай бұрын
Hey thank you for your comment, please explain how to enable the double click feature within piano roll? and yes I am aware of the scale locking within the pattern region but in my opinion, it is more intuitive in Ableton's midi editing window.

Personally.. I HATE yes I capitalised the hate the look of Ableton. I would not want to look at that horrid interface for as many house as we do in a DAW. It has some brilliant features but man it's so damn ugly. I have given a good few hours to it but I always feel like I do more web searches to find stuff out than I do making anything. I uninstalled it after a week as I could not handle its look & then with how unintuitive I personally found the work flow. It kills it for live performance which is where I have used it. (I have worked with friends in Ableton) I have been using logic for so many years I absolutely have a bias. It's so easy to look past grievances because it's a pleasure to look at. way less mess on screen making it feel more spacious & I can see more of my projects. I can set up the view to have everything I need to be right there. I like the more traditional style of Logic. I think if I was ever to use the "Ableton" look I would use bigwig. it has the more traditional workflow combined with the function that Ableton offers just with WAY more interconnectivity. It still looks really messy & not as nice.. but its work flow is much better.
@pushpatterns
