Have Companies & The US Government Pay You!
app.silomarkets.com/launch
Louis Vuitton CEO, Bernard Arnault, is now the richest person in the world having toppled all of the tech billionaires like Elon Musk, Jeff Bezos, and Bill Gates. But, Bernard’s rise to the top was anything but elegant. Given that he didn’t found any of the companies that he now owns, his entire rise consists of corporate raiding, hostile takeovers, and aggressive deals. Bernard approached Gucci with this same mentality, but to everyone’s surprise, Gucci would put up the fight of their lives and successfully evade the clutches of Bernard. First, Gucci would dilute their stock by issuing new stock. This would make Bernard’s stake less and less valuable. Next, Gucci would assign this stock to employees through a stock compensation program. This way, a significant portion of stock would be locked up until the vesting period ends. And finally, Gucci would find a white knight savior to buy up a large enough stake in the company so that it would be impossible for Bernard to achieve a majority stake. This video tells the insane story of how Gucci was able to defend themselves from a hostile takeover and how Louis Vuitton got humiliated trying to acquire Gucci.

They managed to avoid a takeover by the largest luxury group… by joining the 2nd largest one (and also french). And in both groups, brands still have a lot of autonomy anyway. Makes you wonder what was the real reason why they didn’t want to go with Arnault (personal?).
@googleinc6033
@googleinc6033 Жыл бұрын
It's hard to understand if you're not French but some brands have different philosophy, like Hermes they are luxury brands but don't have the same mentality of LVMH of new money accessories. They think they have more noble strong brand and don't want to be a mass production lowering their quality for profits destroying their image in the process. Of course I know in some countries people don't see the difference between a brand like Hermes and Vuitton. Gucci kinda has been leaning LVMH mentality in the past decade. Another reason also is that if LVMH bought Gucci they would have most probably fired the current execs, and making their voting stake in the company less relevant, since the executives don't want that they will obviously fight for it, being part of the other smaller group is better for Gucci.

I go with Gucci anyday! This guy Arnault seems to never have created Anything in relation to the fashion industry. Just simply buys companies for a large conglomerate. Prefer the family run companies.
@Orin9139
@Orin9139 Жыл бұрын
@@marcocarlson1693 Gucci is owned by the Kering group, so it is the same (smaller) as LVMH group owned by Arnault. If you like family run businesses you have Hermes that still has the founding family in its shareholders, Cuccinelli (luxury cashmere) , Armani, Versace(almost), Prada ,Missoni, Ferragamo and Conreliani. For me the best option is to go to your local tailor / leather artisan and will probably get the same quality for a fair price but with proper customer care. Cheers from Italy

My aunt works at LV bag factory here in the Philippines and guess what? We all have LVs bags, pouch and anything "bag like". The secret is if an item has a "defect" upon inspection, it will be thrown into a "recycling bin" or in the bin where they burn it. But these recycling bins are managed by co-workers and they've managed to be united on how, when and where to take things without the fear of being notice.... Anyone wants a bag or pouch or anything? I can send it to you.

Most the brands are not what they use to be. LV not made as well same with Gucci, some items might be but most are not. Now one brand did keep the products well made more less they did't change quality wise is Hermès. Now I hope LVMH doest mess up Hermès. But back to LV to point out what items I found over the years have quality issues, wallets belts shoes sunglasses just name a few. Now the nike LV shoe collaboration the quality is there big time, so I question why not have that level on all the products like they use to long time ago and not just on limited products. And if ones to make limited products colors or styles like example evidence sunglasses and they keep braking with no way to fix with parts they should have.
