That side rubber grip wear is the reason whyI put a hotline grip on it. My old g403 has a literal hole lol

I wonder if you can briefly take a hot air gun to it and smooth it out...

Nice video. I'm just trying to give more life to my 2 year old mouse. Don't have any of these skills or tools. I fixed the scroll wheel spoke by gluing a carved toothpick on, after losing the plastic piece. I got a double-click problem, I wonder if I could fix that by simply washing the switch with alcohol and blowing air into em.

Nicely done. I wish Logitech made the mouse wheels a little easier to take out, they get dirty so fast.

Nice! Looking to do the same with a 1 y old mouse with a broken scroll wheel. Just waiting for the parts to arrive. Thanks for the teardown!

I have to do the same on another G703 I have laying around. I have the encoder ready to go but I've just been too busy with other projects. :(

I would like a video talking about after market mouse switches and rotary mouse wheel encoders. Would be educational. Is there any viedos you would recommend?
@Escaldi4 жыл бұрын
I'm not sure about encoders, but for switches Ents has a good video showing different switches and and how they sound: kzbin.info/www/bejne/ZmHRgHSdm9-rqqs& BeardedBob also has a similar video here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/hZWkl4Ogo5urmq8&

@@Escaldi Okay well I'm planning on getting Kailh Reds, and a Kailh encoder for my Pwnage Batch 3. I'm also getting replacement mouse feet just in case anything happens.
@Escaldi4 жыл бұрын
ROCK I just ordered some Kailh encoders too. I have a G Pro Wireless that I got for $30 that has a bad encoder. Unfortunately they won’t be here until close to the end of September. Also, after having tried several switches I’m starting to really like how crisp the Huano black shell blue dot feel. Barely any pre-travel either. I also got some Kailh GM 2.0 and I’m favoring those over the 4.0.

Escaldi Gaming is the only way to see what compatible encoders are for scroll is by using a micrometer to measure the diameter for the stem?
@Escaldi4 жыл бұрын
ROCK as far as I’m aware yes. I know for sure that the GPW is 9mm.

good job! .. i have this mouse too. i actually have 2 of them. one is the older version from 2017 and the new one 2020 i got just 3 days ago .. cheers \o/

Nice! I never actually used the mouse for gaming. I know a few pros using for competitive play. The hump is too big for my liking.

@@Escaldi I tried other products, but I keep coming back at this g703. I am gaming every day and this never let me down. I love the fact that there is the new version with better battery and better sensor. I only wish it was as heavy as the first version. The new one is about 12g lighter, ..I wonder why they changed this
@nniklask3 жыл бұрын
@@a1_west952 the battery is the only reason I'd wanna switch to the 2020 ver, but tbh I'd rather wanna switch out the battery instead of buying a whole new mouse. I personally dont have any issues with the sensor

Where did you buy those side grips? I wanna replace mine too. And if you know where you can buy the mouse buttons, I'd wanna know.

Thanks, great video. I'm too bought g703 for a cheap (without receiver and with dead wheel, only $13!). Please tell me, what kind of screws are inside: PH, PZ, HEX, TORX or others?

Could you outline what you did to desolder? Seems I quite a bit of trouble desoldering these, definitely not as clean as your desoldering.
@SnotRocket1232 жыл бұрын
He used a solder sucker to get the initial wet solder off after applying heat, then used a solder wick to get the remainder.
