@@therealdoctordoom5912 very debatable… especially with a guy who’s name is doctor doom. But Loki and the enchantress, all big marvel villains back in the 90s. Not as big as marvel’s ultimate bad guy, DR DOOM, the literal ultimate villain in every way in marvels cannon, is a pretty obvious choice. Loki is up there, especially with characters the MCU actually had rights too, since Sony got the majority lions share with the Spider-Man villians, there’s not a ton of super popular marvel villians other wise, the mandarin, red skull, and Loki are definitely the most recognizable at the time.

How I saw this (opinion, please don't hate). He who remains was concerned about one timeline he could control. Loki is enabling all timelines to exist and is effectively anchoring the multiverse. @@imgettingtoooldforthis You make a valid point, but don't forget that Loki sacrificed everything so his friends can be free on the timeline. He learned all he could, centuries of time just trying to fix the ring. Who knows how many times Victor Timely was spaghettied, it was a lot in the show, we saw it happened similar to Dormammu and Strange. So to me Loki is the greatest because he sacrificed a lot for his friend's free will, living eternity with the burden of the multiverse literally on his back. Unlike for example Tony, who was able to die peacefully and finally rest, Loki has to keep at it for however long. So that's why I believe he is the greatest. Not denying anyone else of being a great hero, but Loki is definitely leagues above in my personal opinion. I can see a reason for being any hero you'd mention or someone else mentioned.

The fact the TVA used to prune branches and decide which timelines were part of the sacred timeline and now there isn’t one, just a tree of every infinite timeline and Loki saved them all, giving up his time with his friends to sit there all alone to protect everyone. What a character arc. Such an incredible episode. Plus that score was stunning.

I really needed a bit more info on how Loki just knew how to reignite dying time strands in the end. That came out of nowhere for me and the guys were also visibly confused what he was actually doing there, because that is all new abilities we never saw him learn. I mean moving yourself through time is one thing but just grabbing a time strand and pumping some green energy into it that magically does something to an entire universe is some top end of the addon skilltree stuff. I liked the general direction but that scene lost me a little by stretching my suspension of disbelief too far.

The visceral reaction I had to this episode was very unexpected. I mean I figured we would lose Loki and felt prepared for it. But the way they handled it…I mean Loki finally got to the point where he deserved another shot at life but that growth is exactly why he will never get it. He’s terrified of being alone and that’s exactly what he is now - completely alone and watching from the outside. He’ll never see Thor again and Thor will never know what his brother did for everyone. Mobius didn’t get to say goodbye and didn’t get to know everything Loki went through to make the decision he made. He misses his friend and feels empty. It’s all so devastatingly tragic. The more I thought about it the more I started crying.

The whole Loki turning the time streams into a Yggdrasil type tree seems to me to be a perfect metaphor for the new TVA. If you think about it, after a tree grows it is constantly changing throughout the seasons. Leaves, fruit and flowers grow and die and are constantly reborn. Such as the timestreams could be viewed. Branches of time are born, they grow and most inevitably die only to begin again. The thing that remains constant however is the trees roots. Which in fact over time begin to run deeper and strengthen. I think the fact they showed the tree with the top being purple and the roots green tells us we will in fact see Kang again, as purple is of course his colour. However the roots are green to of course represent Loki. Who will have to see to it the purple Kang branches and flowers of his tree are properly maintained and trimmed accordingly.

Loki essentially has become one of the most powerful beings in Marvel but is burden remaining at the end of time keeping the timelines alive. Loki always wanted a throne but finally got it when he didn't want it. One of the most developed characters in all of Marvel. Loki won't age. Kang/He who remains was just a human scientist and lived for eons at the end of time. The writers wanted this version of Kang to act a lot like willy wonka. A very powerful person who got tired of doing what he is doing and looking for someone to take up his mantle. Loki essentially did what Kang wanted except he destroyed the loom allowing the multiverse to grow and prosper. Now there are branches connecting into other universes. The events of this show basically explain why the multiverse even exists for the MCU. I love this show because its not necessarily important to know the exact reasoning for why the multiverse exists. But its nice knowing that Loki is the one responsible and the one behind the curtain holding everything together and giving the universe a chance.

Loki is now burdened with glorious purpose to quite literally hold an infinite multiverse together. He is allowing every multiverse to live by grasping it to never let go effectively making the ultimate sacrifice. Loki is now the god of stories. Its an infinite realm. He's leveled up, can time slip anywhere, time no longer has hold on him. Also the TVA knows all about all the kangs, thats why they said they were watching the variants. They simply acknowledge that one of them got out of line and was dealt with. Thats the ant man one. BUt they know all about all the other stuff from the line that they were watching to variants. Sort of a ... hey you can do your war or whatever, but dont fuck around with the time lines or the TVA because you will "find out" Also he who remains know about the time slipping and he knew that he would have to kill sylvie, so they could keep the sacred timeline. But thats the thing. Thats the game they were playing. Loki looked at the board with the equations, and he said, fuck that imma change the equations. Change the game, so He who remains did not see that coming at all. He just knew that he'd live cause the only way to do it would be kill sylvie. He didnt account for extraneous factors, such as not playing the game that was set up for him. He changed to a totally different game that was unforseen by he who remains. I also believe renslayer seeing the seal of the TVA at the beginning was the same as when loki went there, I believe that that seal leads underground where they were all hiding. It was clearly not the TVA or a destroyed TVA or anything like that. Its the planet at the end of time, and the glowing effect we saw on her was allioth.

I think “what happened” is that Loki essentially used his new abilities and powers to become the Loom they were trying to build. Destroyed the Loom, therefore destroying the Failsafe that would reset all the NEW branches (that were created once Silvie killed HWR) and just keep the Sacred Timeline. And the danger of this was that it would unleash a Multiversal War with Kang variants fighting for dominance and destroying everything like HWR’s backstory implies. We see this happening as all the branches start to “die” in the finale. But I think Loki is ‘weaving’ the various universes and timeline to at the very least exist without destroying themselves for now.

Loki began by claiming he was ‘burdened with glorious purpose’. Now he has accepted to accept his glorious purpose as the God of Time, but it is a great burden, not a prize. He has achieved more than anyone could have guessed, but none of his friends and family in Asguard will ever know. Excellent finish to a great series.

This series shows why when the MCU is at their best their the greatest comic book franchise of all time. You can’t just ignore this franchise after Endgame and say well marvel can’t do better than that. Phase 4 and 5 isn’t perfect but they have great projects that gives you hope for the future 💯💯

Absolutely. I've liked far more of it than disliked it but I think where it falls down is that it feels unconnected and directionless as a whole. The thing with a show as good as Loki is that it doesn't really detract from the quality of the show itself if the MCU itself is an unsatisfying mess at the moment.

Loki replaced the loom with Yggdrasil, which is described as infinite in size so no branching problem!

Yeap the best way to deal with this branching and pruning problem is basically just turn the timeline strands into a big tree.

I’m so glad I went into watching this finale knowing that Loki also becomes god of “stories” - it saved me so much confusion and made this episode so freaking epic.

Loki can definetly see all the timelines. it was indicated in the last scene where you can hear a whisper of Mobius saying "Let time pass" telling us that Loki was watching that moment beetween Mobius and Sylvie. By that we can comprehend he can view mcu timiline as well.

There are some really interesting parallels to the cycles of ragnarok and loki being bound in mythology , and a new Yggdrasil . Smarter people than me will put it into good words.

I predicted the scaling problem and described it to my dad in the exact same words, right before Victor explained them. I even said you can't scale for infinity. He said it right after I did and I felt so validated 😂

To think that now Loki is in charge of giving each life a chance in the new lines of the branches of time. And now everything becomes canonical. And he will be in charge of being the one who will give the great warning to the Prime heroes... Which we will have in Secret Wars!

"I might just wait here for a little bit, let time pass." Perhaps the best words to conclude Loki's journey. It might be the end, Or it might not, But for now, let's wait a bit and appreciate that we've had the chance to experience this.

Never in my wildest dreams did I ever think that Loki would have become my favorite MCU character, but DAMN! This show easily solidified that fact for me. Loki popping back into the room right as Victor scanned his head was definitely a nod, and knowing what I know now it gave me chills. Loki, the God of Stories!
