Now, I have this grand theory about what's been happening in the MCU according to our perception of it: (just in case this video talks about said theory, note that I have only watched a few minutes of this video as of writing this comment) - Essentially, everything since Episode 6 of Season 1 of Loki has been in an alternate universe, and the audience simply weren't told. This could easily provide a better outlook and understanding of how to tell the stories according to behind the scenes, and to the audience this can explain why almost all of what's been released since then has somehow not been up to par - because its not our timeline... We were just seeing different branches! I mean, why go through telling a story about branched realities if they didn't plan on showing us a lot of branched reality content... So you can see, this lays the groundwork to tell a story explaining that there is a main timeline that we just haven't been seeing yet.

When Loki talks about “coming to kill the devil,” you could feel his genuine fear and confusion over their actions. All while conveying his feelings for Sylvie. I wonder if Marvel understands how lucky they are to have Tom Hiddleston portray such a complicated character with a complicated name.

Just noticed something about the names on this show. Minutemen are “named” with numbers and letters. Ravona, Casey, Sylvie, Knox and others have more normal names. Yet, Ouroboros, Mobius, and Loki all have names that mean forever or eternal loops. Three strange names and three Time Keepers. Maybe the robots were somehow connected to or meant to represent them and the effects they had/will have on time.

This episode was EASILY one of the best things that has come out of the MCU. The dialogue was some of MCU's best (not that the bar is super high to reach). It felt super smooth and it was very funny, witty and entertaining. The cinematography was absolutely amazing. I don't really like the look of wider lenses, but if it's used right it can do so much, and here it was used amazingly. The camera was used super creatively and it always looked interesting.

As far as the lore-heavy "homework required" shows like Ahsoka, I feel like not only is there room for them, the franchises NEED both approachable material to bring in new fans as well as deep cuts and lore-heavy stuff to reward the more invested fans. A balance between these is crucial to the long term health of the franchises, especially as new casual fans BECOME more invested and want to explore the lore deeper.

I was so looking forward to this season 2 to kick off and not gonna lie, I was quite concerned when the director of the first season happily said "alright, I'm out", but damn, these directors that have been brought on from Moon Knight have done an insane job ! What a kick off for season 2 ! It's so grand in scale that it almost felt like an actual season finale ! And the fact that they're OPENING the season with it !? Goddamn ! I hope they didn't peak early and it's all downhill from here, but I want to hope ! This first episode really showed us we're in good hands, so let's hope they stick the landing ! So hyped for this season. Also, I love that in the rest of the MCU, anytime you go back in time, you just create a new branched timeline, but since time runs differently with the TVA , we're back to a good old Back to the Future style of linear time travel shenanigan, where changing the past actually influences the future/present. I missed these type of time travel stories. I feel like it's the writers clever way to have their cake and eat it as well. PS : that mobius "SKIN ?" moment, followed by his thumbs up are the best silent comedy the MCU has done since ... Ever ? Long live Owen Wilson ! PPS : long live Ke Huy Quan ! So happy to see him being part of the MCU, now ! I really hope he becomes a regular all throughout the MCU, like Wong. I also love all the little callbacks to Everything Everywhere All at Once they threw all throughout this episode.

Ahsoka EASILY could have been approachable if they just put the slightest effort into explaining things and making characters relatable. Thats what Loki does so well. The prior events are 10x more complicated than Ahsokas but some basic exposition and the character interactions inform the audience on how they should feel about the events going on.

I've seen some other comments online of people saying that the MCU has ruined Loki and now he's "just another guy". I think that's unfair. Comics books can have characters that never age and never change. But I would find it incredibly frustrating if Loki, after going through all he has, just starts acting like he did in Avengers again. I imagine when the MCU does reboots (because actors in real life DO age) they can start over with the mischievous evil Loki. They can decide where he'll take him in that iteration of the stories. I love the growth Loki has gone through here.

I think they are doing exactly what Kang wants them to do. At the end of season one he knowingly, slides his temp pad to the Lokeys. He saw Sylvie push Loki through a time portal with his temp pad, knowing it would allow him to move on the TV a timeline. I think he knows that Loki is taking this new hero approach, and I think he knows that they will destroy the TVA and restart the loop. Whats also very interesting is, while Loki’s time slipping to the past TVA wouldn’t a version of Kang be there ruling? He would’ve known Loki. Was times slipping on the timeline and making changes. So I think he’s sitting back and watching as they do the exact bidding that he wants them to do. My big picture theory is that king wants them to destroy the multi-verse. Despite him acting as though he’s trying to save it I think by them destroying it, He will then create battle world as the benevolent ruler of a single, isolated world as a long con to get Ravonna back 👀

what made Loki season 1 so successful, imo, was that each episode felt like a self contained story - with its own vibe, color scheme, thematic arc, even music. sure, they would end episodes on a cliffhanger, but that is true to how the serialized source material works (ie: comics). i can recall the events of episode 3 or 5, for example, very easily (3=Loki & Sylvie bond & 5=the Void). whereas, in Ahsoka (to pick on a recent D+show), the episodes all feel somewhat arbitrary. there isn't a clear feel or story arc to each individual episode. i couldn't tell you the difference between episode 2 & 4 other than one is further along than the other. it all blurs together. so i agree with Colton (the poor fellow stuck in the TV... what does he eat? TV dinners?) Loki is my favorite of the Marvel shows - partially because of how strong each individual episode felt.

Based on the several Easter eggs in the first episodes the Kang of Quantamia once ruled the TVA with Ravonna after winning the war and a few surviving variants trapped him in the Quantum Realm. So the Council of Kangs regroup an tasked one variant to watch the Sacred Timeline, the One Who Remains.

I'm sure complicated, chaotic and confusing is somewhat what they want in a story about a multiverse but they have to figure out a way to simplify this at some point

I LOVE that theory of Loki the Hero and I'm sincerely hoping you are on the right track with it! And over the course of two prolly 2 and a half to 3 hour movies in Kang Dynasty and Secret Wars, that's a LOT of potential screen time to have him take on that kind of a role. GAWD I would love to see him fighting alongside the likes of Peter Parker (Maybe Miles Morales by then, too???????) his brother, Thor, and as many OG Avengers as they can pull into this thing. I think there would be a fantastic series of scenes of people who don't trust him eventually seeing where he's coming from.

Okay, your theory actually matched with 80% of mine! Also I am keeping up with multiple youtube channels with multiple youtubers theorizing about The MCU's future at the same time. Ever since Wandavision started all of these youtubers, including you, had so many great theories and finally now, with Loki S2, they are all aligning. It almost feels insane how close your theories are. Also according to reports from various insiders that I got to know about from @TheCosmicWonder the TVA is apparently gonna go around an start picking heroes from universes facing incursions to save them and put them together to form a team in Deadpool 3 that is gonne be ready by the time Secret Wars comes out, being led by Tobey' Spidey, Hugh Jackman's Wolverine and Ryan Renolds's Deadpool. Would love to see you collaborate with Wareen Thompson and Eric Voss and see all of you put out your theories and discuss with each other the plan of the MCU. Love from India ❤.

The fact thsy Rachel's first words were not directly warning Colton that he is trapped in a TV immediately makes me think she is evil and an acompless in coltons wrongful imprisonment

My only fear for this phase is for the first time I dk if even Kevin Feige knows where it’s going. One of my favorite things to show non mcu fans is the “on your left moment” I don’t know if we’re getting anything like that so far.

Curious what that first (?) timeline branching that happened was when Loki shows up into the past TVA was about. The previous version of the TVA had Ravonna there from the start with Kang/He Who Remains and it appears possible that her and the whole of the TVA are on a sort of loop where when the TVA ends, it gets restarted again.

I hope your theory about Loki becoming the central protagonist of the Multiverse saga is true because his character is the most interesting in the universe. He is the quintessential anti-hero and it's fun to follow a story of redemption. And Hiddleston's portrayal of Loki is so much fun. I also hope Sylvie becomes a more integral character and appears in the films, but odds are probably better that she will die in the series unfortunately.

I was never the most in tune to the details of marvel when I used to go watch the movies, but I definitely loved what I was seeing and chose to then go back and watch every single minute of marvel available to be able to get as excited at the theater as all the other dorks, I don’t want them to dumb the content down, they do a good enough job already. I guess it depends on the person but I had fun learning g all the details and catching up to the mcu where it is

I just like to throw this out. When there was no more time and OB had to close the doors to the time loom, Mobius said that Loki will return. This is basically a summary of Loki's many arcs: he always returns even when we is thought to be dead or gone for real. And perhaps, this faith in Loki's return not only serves as a 'prediction' of what will happen in the succeeding episodes, or franchises even, but also an echo of, a meta-commentary about fans' desire to see Loki return.

I noticed something rewatching S1E6! When zooming out, we hear quotes that basically summarize the Infinity Saga. But the moment we shift to zooming in on the 2nd black hole, we hear Phase 4 quotes like Vision talking to Wanda. Is Phase 4 just happening in a totally separate universe from our MCU!? Is that why there’s Earth 616 and also 199999? Maybe they’re just really similar or branched off each other, and that explains things like Spider-Man NWH and Hawkeye overlapping in Rockefeller Center!
