I’m gonna be honest I really didn’t like this episode and honestly… I think I don’t like the season as a whole. And I really like Loki he’s probably my favorite marvel character so I really wanted to like this show. I felt like the plot was prioritized while the characters were very wishy washy in a way that felt rushed. For instance möbius in the first episode had an interesting relationship with Loki but that was completely sidelined as soon as the second episode where he is completely done with Loki’s shit which feels premature and completely changes the dynamic between the two. Where Loki becomes this eccentric doofus and möbius treats him like an idiot. He had a good consistent relationship with that one girl (who I can’t remember the name of) but I didn’t really care because I had no interest in her. I wish he and Loki had one extra episode together to flesh out their relationship. Then there’s sylvie… who was ok but forgettable she had the tragedy that our Loki has with none of the charm. She wasn’t funny, she didn’t have any memorable lines to me and her defining trait was that she was more serious or more angry I guess. I also didn’t buy her relationship with Loki; it wasn’t forced but it felt half assed. Of course you could say “that’s just because it was never that kind of relationship in the first place Loki just misinterpreted” (maybe this isn’t an argument that anyone has ever said but I felt like it could be one someone uses at some point) but I didn’t buy Loki really being all that into her in a genuine way either… . She just needed another episode where we just got to explore her character a bit more and maybe see her relationship with Loki bloom more. Overall I think I would’ve preferred it if the had 2 more episodes that focused more on the characters than the plot so the characters could’ve felt more fleshed out and the pacing would slow down a bit. Either that or maybe they could’ve extended the length of a couple episode’s to allow more time for the characters

I've seen several comments raising critique based on not understanding how time works in the MCU so I thought I would try to explain. Dr Hulk and the Ancient One tried in Endgame but maybe it was too complicated. Time in the MCU is not like in Back to the Future. It is not a movie that plays out beginning to end. If you go back in the past and change something, that will not change anything in your future. If you change something that makes the chain of events leading into your future impossible (like stealing a cosmic cube) that will force reality to create a split into two multiverses. One with a cosmic and one without. This means that all the events on the timeline are not happening progressively like a movie but are actually happening constantly and at the same time. The birth of Loki, for example, is constantly happening and sometimes plays out so drastically different that it neccessitates a new timeline. Like Loki being born a girl instead. To stop this new multi verse from being born the variant is removed, fed to Alioth and the branch is deleted. A single timeline is maintained from the birth of reality to the end of time where Kang, who is in full control of time at this point, does not allow it to go further. It is one single entity, a sacred timeline, and the only one with any free will is Kang. After an unfathomable amount of years Kang is tired and looks for the perfect person to either replace him or defeat him. He gives them his power (free will) by letting time go past the end of time. At this point he has no idea what is going to happen because time is not written. He dies and the stifling of the sacred timeline is removed. All nexus events grow uncontrollably and every being throughout time is given free will. In other words. This effect is applied to the total sacred timeline, from birth to end of time, all at once. As soon as Kang loses his influence on the timeline all possible things that can happen do happen. Which means multiverses where his Kang variants are the victors instead of him are born.
@Webshooters13 жыл бұрын
Just simplify it further and say it's DBZ logic. Future Trunks went back in time to give Goku the heart medicine so he would live and warned him about the coming of the androids in three year's time but his future remained unchanged. It just created a branching timeline. The timeline of Future Trunks is Timeline A. The one he created by going back in time and giving Goku the medicine is Timeline B.

I feel like all this makes the Infinity saga irrelevant. Like this Kang guy was orchestrating all of time for the sake of maintaining the balance of the multiverse. Makes the drama of the Infinity Wars seem trivial by comparison lol

You gotta top what came before so you they have to make thanos seem irrelevant. Especially if they wanna introduce beings such as Galactus

I gotta say that I agree a bit. It makes the stakes of Infinity War and Endgame seem small.

That's the beauty of it though. All that hardship all that fighting, jsut to stop one huge bad guy. When another rises. But infinity war and endgame weren't trivial cause without them, this loki wouldn't have existed. This breah of the multiverse wouldn't have come about. If thanos won, it would all be over anyways.

@@yutterh9153 It is the other way around. Kang did orchestrate everything we saw in the MCU movies. Thanos was never going to "win" cause Kang was not going to let it happen. Loki was nothing more than a puppet for Kang. That's the whole idea of there not been free will till Kang died. It is a cool concept. But, it also means the Infinity war and endgame ( and everything else we have seen) happened cause Kang willed it so.

Had no idea that guy was Kang (or who Kang was) until I saw reactions online afterwards! Started reading up about the character straight away and really looking forward to seeing how they portray him now. Started watching the older Avengers animation on Disney+ and I’ve got to 3 episodes which introduces Kang and has some of his story, damn he’s powerful!

Loki was sent back to a different time line, because KANG programmed his ipad thingy, which Sylvie stole and then used on LOKI, so

Did anyone else feel like Loki was made with the cheapest possible budget the entire way through? Like for example Tom hiddleston just wore his normal clothes the entire show beginning to end

Seriously, the whole show was underwhelming, and the finale gave me the feels of "I've no idea of where am going and I suck at writing anyway". It felt bland. It felt a filler between MCU movies. Seriously not my cup of tea. And btw, I don't mind the audio quality. Feels like a beers night out :D

*There have been two sacred timelines, two TVAs, and two Kangs the whole time* Look at the beginning again. After the mcu intro with all the random voice lines we go from one multiverse to another. The multiverse we enter is where the show takes place in. This is all before the major branches at the end of the episode, so why is there another multiverse?. This most likely means that Loki was sent to the other multiverse that we saw in the beginning, and that Kang has been hiding the existence of another multiverse all with its own TVA and Kang--a multiverse that is not a new branch and that has always existed, even before Kang died. Sylvie was able to transport Loki to this other multiverse that was not accessible through normal tempads because she used Kang's tempad which probably has special access--and sent Loki to the TVA most likely by accident. This means the original Kang variants that met each other that He Who Remains describes at the beginning of his explanation of the timeline war are partners who both kept their multiverses and erased all others. The Kang that we know already admitted that he was one of those variants which had weaponized the Alioth, but he did not speak of the other Kang who had met this variant. Notice how he describes the Kang that had found the Alioth as a variant, but he switches to referring to himself in first person as weaponizing the Alioth and ending the war. By not referring to himself as the Kang that found the Alioth, but only as the Kang that weaponized it he may be leaving out the fact that there were two Kangs--one who found the Alioth and himself who had weaponized it. This other Kang that found the Alioth is who I expect is ruling over the TVA that we see at the end of the Loki finale. These two Kangs have always been in an alliance and work together to erase any other multiverses. There also could not have been multiple branching TVAs because it wouldn't make sense logically. The TVA's job is to prevent branches, so how does their technology still display the timelines branching from their own as if they are still the sacred timeline? That's why I believe there are two sacred timelines and two Kangs. Another reason why there can't be branching TVAs is because the TVA we saw was lead by a Kang variant, but how can Kang create the TVA if he hasn't won the timeline war yet? He wouldn't create the TVA to stop branches from being made, he would just make an army for the timeline war because other Kangs will already start to exist. It also doesn't make sense that in these branching timelines that the TVA would develop because the TVA is a byproduct of Kang winning the timeline war and a way to keep his power as the one and only Kang--why would he need to keep power that he doesn't have yet? Also, how can he prune people without the control of the Alioth? There is only supposed to be one Kang that controls Alioth because the moment one does control it that Kang wins the war. You can't be in control of a war ender before it even begins because it would end immediately and that Kang would already end up like He Who Remains. It would only make sense for another Kang to exist if there were two Kangs that controlled the Alioth who are partners. The Kang variants that are being created must be Kangs that have just discovered time travel and just begun meeting each other who have not yet started the timeline war, otherwise a timeline war would have already begun before which doesn't logically make sense since Kang has only just died and allowed these Kang variants to be created. A timeline war would need to have already occurred and ended for another TVA to be created, but since that hasn't happened a Kang from another branch cannot make another TVA. The TVA is made to prevent other Kangs from existing, so it wouldn't make sense for a Kang to establish a TVA that prevents branching timelines before the second timeline war ends. What does makes sense is that there are two Kangs that agree to let their sacred timelines exist, and that these two are the Kangs that defeated all others using the Alioth they discovered and who each have created the TVA to stop branching from occurring for their separate multiverses. This is why Loki can enter a separate TVA, because it is not part of a branch but a whole other sacred timeline.
