Tom Hiddleston was actually speaking excellent Latin in the Pompeii scene. He speaks many languages in real life including Ancient Greek and Latin. Languages added to his knowledge of and passion for classic performances as he is a classical trained theater actor.

Was waiting for this one! What an INCREDIBLE episode! Hands down my favorite MCU series. This episode was perfect. The score, writing, acting, comedy, set design, drama. The character is actually listed as Sylvie in the credits, meaning it’s most likely Enchantress impersonating Lady Loki, which thank god. Lady Loki is one of my favorite Designs in the comics and I’m tried of every MCU franchise being centered around generic aryan white woman. Hopfully we’ll get a version with the Raven black hair/lipstick and giant fur cloak

People do not realize that as a shapeshifter Loki has changed genders often and is canonically the mother of Sleipnir. As for where the Lokis are going, having carpet-bombed the Sacred Timeline all of the TVA's Minute Men are having to be deployed in order to deal with the multitude of Nexus Events that have been caused leaving the TVA vulnerable to invasion. Our Loki realizes what is going on in their minds and so is the only person that can follow theirself through the portal and protect the headquarters and the Time Keepers.

I am from Sweden. We read some in school and I read the scriptures (Eddas) as an adult. As I remember Loki gave birth to his children when (s)he was impregnated as a mare. So the myths had a sort of gender fluidity but it didn't stop Loki calling Odin feigr (coward/gay?) since Odin dabbled in a sort of divination that was mostly done by women (in Lokasenna). He did many stupid things in Asgård, for example on a whim he shaved Thor's wife's beautiful hair off for fun and Thor wanted to strike him down on the spot. But he went to the dwarves who fashioned hair of pure gold for her and he saved his skin (again). He is charming, scheming and it often does not go well for him but he was instrumental for the downfall of the Gods (Ragnarök).

Do a Google image search on "Atlanta Marriott Marquis atrium." It is one of the freakiest places I've ever been. When you're at the top looking down, it doesn't even look like down any more, it doesn't look like anything the mind can grasp. It was a perfect place to film this. (Weirdly, it also appeared in the trailers for SPIDER-MAN: HOMECOMING, despite not appearing in the film itself.)

I believe the TVA is incorrect about who they’re chasing. That was not a Loki. That was Sylvie Lushton aka Enchantress, that Loki trained. Not a variant but a Loki student. Also, Mobius suspects the time keepers are no longer in charge and he needs Loki prime to help him flush out who has taken control (Kang)

@@x2bounty I don’t think Amora has anything to do with this particular storyline. I think Sylvie lost her teacher and blames the TVA or Kang himself. Maybe Kang was taken down by Loki at some point and that’s why theres such an emphasis on wiping out Loki variants. I believe Mobius suspects the Time Keepers are no longer calling the shots and he’s using Loki prime as a way to flush out whoever is pulling the strings. I think Sylvie will likely tell Loki she lost her Loki and who she believes is responsible which puts our Loki on his path to uncovering the truth at the TVA and instating Mobius as the new head of the TVA. Someone he trusts won’t abuse the power. Mobius will likely reveal that his purpose was to get our Loki to become the version of himself that Thanos killed. Why? Because it’s supposed to happen. The universe needs Chaotic Good Loki 🙌🏼

So I’ve just watched the second episode of LOKI, and I got to say I’m very much enjoying the interplay between Loki & Mobius, but that’s all I’m enjoying at this time, I’m getting the old rivalry between DC & Marvel happing here, let me explain, it’s no surprise that both franchise’s have been stealing ideas form each other for decades, anything one side has the other has to make their version, but better. And that’s what’s happening to this show, characters are different but the idea and concept virtually the same, in the DC universe they’ve had multiverse’s for some time now and a group of heroes travelling through time correcting mistakes set by a mischief character, the bad guy and they are know as THE LEGENDS OF TOMORROW working for the TIME Bureau, is not now sounding familia in anyway?? Marvel have an agency called the TVA and they track bad guys messing up the time line. ORIGINAL NOT!! Err it’s already been done Marvel Guys really… Loki is such a fantastic character and I feel your not using him to his full potential. After writing this statement, I just learned that 90’000 people world wide have cancelled their membership with Disney+ after their disappointed with the show, it would seem I was on to something, i won’t be cancelling as I’m a big fan of the channel and offers so much other content.

I'm not sure about what Loki is in Marvel, but in Norse mythology, he's genderfluid and speciefluid. An example of this is him being the mother of Sleipnir, Odin's horse. The father of Sleipnir is just a normal male horse. So there isn't really a female or male loki, there's just Loki.

The fight between Variant Loki and the possessed guy, although it was cool, it Did *NOT* Make ANY Sense, because Loki has Super-human Strength, and he should have been able to demolish that guy easily, because he was a regular guy. The only way that that would make sense is when the Lady Loki possesses someone that Some, if Not ALL, of her powers transfered to the possessed person, which is probably why that possessed guy gave Loki a bit of Trouble.

Yeah she's Loki, despite whatever body weirdness she's up to. Although you would think that two frost giants, one male one female would be proportionally strong to each other as any male to female would be. In other words... he should be stronger. So she probably enhances the forms she takes.

Yeah, power levels in the MCU vary wildly from show to show. Hulk swinging him around knocked the wind out of him but that was it. Then getting thrown into a display by a possessed human does pretty much the same thing? It also makes me wonder about the TVA agents. They must be as strong as Asgardians themselves.

@Nimz I wouldn’t say that Hulk’s utter pounding of Loki into the ground wasn’t remotely the same as Loki briefly on his back for a couple moments, looking more irritated than anything. He doesn’t seem to be taking the whole fight seriously at all. I could’ve sworn he was smirking several times, and he very clearly made several jokes and seemed mildly irritated at most.

@@nimz8521 There’s a ton of conflation of power levels and overall notions from show to show, movie to movie. For example, are they Guardians of the ‘Galaxy’ as in, the Milky Way galaxy? Or is that just a name and they’re Universal? The Infinity Stones emerged from the Big Bang and yet, somehow 3 of them wound up on Earth. Space is BIG man!! So, conflating ‘Galaxy’ with ‘Universe’. Or… Cap’s power level. Can he simply be shot? In WS, that’s a ‘yes’. But then, space laser guns nail him and he’s fine. Did that gash on his arm heal super fast? What about the one on his leg? Does Bucky have super strength or is it somehow just the arm? In FaTWS, he seems indestructible… until he’s fighting one on one with anyone. Then he can be punched into oblivion. I’m way overthinking this, but “Vary wildly” is a great way to say it. (…when a series is so good, all I can do is pick at semantical minutiae.)

0:34 - "every single MCU movie/tv show up to this point" Ahem, that remains controversial. The various Marvel tv shows that featured the likes of Peggy Carter, Howard Stark, Phil Coulson, Lady Sif, Nick Fury, etc. (played by the same MCU movie actors with their same MCU movie characterisations), and/or made frequent references to the events of or elements from the Avengers movies, and that were announced as being canon at the time they originally aired, seem to me to have a strong case for being regarded as MCU, even if the movies have recently drifted away from the tv shows' continuity and the latter have been retroactively declared uncanonical. And with the multiverse and alternative timelines now being a thing, they could easily be reinstated as canonical, as the _Loki_ scriptwriters have in fact publicly hinted. So by my count there are *TWELVE* MCU tv series that Mary has yet to watch. (Plus the various One-Shots that it's unclear to me whether she has watched.)

i thought those were tie ins for a while. But they all had different show runners, with very little input from the filmmakers. technically, the Netflix series was meant to be canon too, but they definitely pulled the plug on that. which sucks, cuz Charlie Cox owned the role of Daredevil.
