I love our hard-working officers but what kinda dick has the balls to ticket the master atop of his stead. Seriously, if I were that cop's coworker I would kick his ass just outta respect. Breaking the law is wrong, but this was R&D and nothing is more omnipotent than Nelson"s Racing engines R&D ! Nothing !!

Excellent video, guys! As someone who watched a pro tuner tear out his hair over a V6 ITB system (coughing back thru the butterflies at 3500 - fun, losing idle randomly, etc.), I can appreciate the work that went into this setup. Cheers!
@albertgaspar627 Жыл бұрын
what really screws an individual runner system is no plenum shared between cylinders. so every time the intake valve closes, the air fuel mixture has to go...someplace. typically back thru the runner system, which is why you always saw a cloud of fuel vapor over the old Hilborn setups when they were not running WOT (like warming up in the pits). Sequential EFI should stop spraying when the intake valve is nearly on the seat.

Hey Nelson, you done it again brother. You always seem to amazed me, I have a 2004, 2.8lc K.B cobra terminator fully blown done by the other Nelson on the East Coast at Evolution Performance. WHP and TQ is about the same as your rating from the motor you created, the amazing thing is that you have achieved it naturally aspirated. Back in 2003 the man himself John Colletti, stated that the guys was working on an 5.4litter naturally aspirated motor for the terminator but it just didn't have the kick he was looking for, so they went supercharger. I think he should have commissioned you for the build up, maybe then ford would not have received so much hate mail for using supercharge motors back then. Times have change almost every car manufacturer is using some form of power adder today. The look on your face when drove through the tunnel at 7:34 in the video is priceless. Your work speaks for itself and your engineering knowledge is 2nd to none. Keep the excellent work coming.

When you get pulled over, find a safe spot for the cop to approach (hopefully he's smart enough to approach on the passenger side, but most aren't), don't take off your belt or a grumpy cop will write you up for that, keep hands on top of the wheel so he can see them. Once he's got his eyes on you, then you have plenty of time to reach for your paperwork while you announce what you're doing. As for the cop asking if this is how a customer's property is driven, imagine your valet driver handling your car like this--you'd ask that question, too. The cop was right to wonder why this isn't tested on a track where a shunt off road wouldn't ding up the fenders. We all like to have fun, but cops get to clean up the mess, and that's why they get so hard on you. (VINs on early Mustangs are found on the driver door or under the hood next to where the driver's front fender bolts onto the engine comparment. Something to keep in mind when you do a MII front suspension swap and cut it all away)
@praticle11 жыл бұрын
Nelson Racing Engines builds racing engines. It's his customers that want them in street legal cars. Clearly your not afraid of a ticket if you pay to have this car built. And as a racing engine, it's intended to be "thrashed" so of course that's the way you drive it during the tests.

My parents were smart enough to supervise my outdoor play time till I understood not to go in the road. That there are people out there who ignore better judgment and pass on blind hills. The hicks where I grew up would whip them when they got near the road. There's a point where personal accountability comes into play. The highway system was built to accommodate vehicles. Mr. Nelson has also been down this road many times. CHP heard him a mile away tho.

I’m not “anti-cop” because I’ve had family members that have worked in law enforcement. I’ve also worked with local police agencies for almost 30 years during my time spent in the alarm industry. Cops for the part aren’t a whole lot different from the rest of us. Having said that, I’m also a big time car nut; I’ve owned Corvettes, Chargers, Mustangs and a few other cars that one should have a pilot’s license in order to operate. Needless to say I’ve had my fair share of run ins with the local constabulary. I just felt the cop in this video was a little bit harder than he needed to be given the circumstances.
@AdamFranks9 жыл бұрын
Never know though man. He may have seen a nasty death due to driving like that 2 days before. Tom knows what he's doing but the cop doesn't know that when he spots this stuff. People die doing stupid shit and it's their job to keep things in order. He was far exceeding the speed limit in a car that doesn't belong to him and at first seemed to have no VIN plate or registration and is far from street legal by Cali standards. He could have been nicer but who knows what he's seen on the job. He could have been a real dick just as easy and hit them for everything and left them walking (or in my state due to the speeds in custody.)
