Let's Learn Ukrainian

What to say to a waiter at a Ukrainian restaurant or pizza place? What will the waiter say to you? How to buy tickets? How to buy things at a supermarket? Hopefully, these little dialogs help you feel more confident when talking to native speakers!

Very informative video. This kind of interactive videos are much more useful to learn dialogues used at various places/conditions. Thank you so much. Thanks a lot to your Sestra too.

thank you for this!! 💕🥰 On my recent trip I was in all those situations. For buying tickets (metro) I had one standard phrase that I used the entire time, however I witnessed some people only slide money across the counter without saying a word. 🤔 In the supermarket I wasn't greeted and I realised I need to revise numbers. In restaurants I was a bit lost at first, I mean I could order something but I wouldn't understand things people say to me so I always had to switch to English at some point... but overall everything was doable! Edit: I thought it was quite strange that waiters sometimes introduce themselves by name, it'd be unthinkable here. Also, what's with Ukrainian portion sizes? I have yet to master Ukrainian restaurant etiquette.

Where is here? I am used to restaurant servers always introducing themselves by name.

You're welcome! Yes, when you buy a metro ticket you either don't talk much or don't talk at all 🙈😁 when it's bus or train ticket there's some information exchange, so some phrases might be useful. Im greeted at the supermarket almost 100% if the time, if not I just greet first 🙃 As for waiters telling their names, guess they started doing that here more or less recently, it wasn't always the case like 15 or 20 years ago

A very useful content! Great idea and well done! Please go in this direction and continue producing similliar stuff. There is hardly to find any material for intermediate Ukrainian language. Please try to create short movies using only simpel Ukrainian language.
