Would a vibrator have helped get the concrete down into every crack and crevice?

That was a bloody hard day. Complete respect for mixing what must have been over 3 cubic metres in one day.

How exciting to receive such a large shipment. Excellent progress boxing in those steels. Moving 4 tons of ballast is quite the achievement for one day.

That looked hard !!! Looks really neat though

Why not just book a few meters straight from a concrete mixer? Can't be much in it for all this effort. Look forward to the oversite/walls next

Yeah thats what I would of done too! Would save A LOT of time and effort. Time is money. I did that on a small foundation for a 5 meters driveway wall. Was a straight pore took 5 minutes and then levelled it up , dead easy!!

Just the materials for 4 bags of ballast must come to nearly £400. Isn’t ready mixed on site about £130 a metre. Ready mixed every time for that amount.

@@mohammedsajid1896 “Time is money” -> Hardly anyone, including you, properly understands this cliche. Those boys are on day, so more time = more money. It’s only bigger gangs that work on price.

I think getting a mini ready mix and wheel borrowed it in would be better and less back ache? Would of cost the same amount :)

Well done guys.. PUB TIME

Did you consider asking the client/customer to pay a firm like concrete singh to pour a ready made concentrate mix over the steel beams? Would have saved a back breaking day as I know from first hand mixing cement is hard work.

Progressing nicely! Out of curiosity, did you find out why the steels were designed that way? Also quick tip... try using a sds drill on hammer to vibrate the concrete

Silly question Darren - you mentioned the waste pipe for the bathroom but how are you tackling the waste etc for the new kitchen? Will it tie into the bathroom waste?
@darrenthebuilder2 жыл бұрын
It will go into a gully which will be some when outside the kitchen wall side. It’s a drain on the ground on the front if the building. The pipe will exit the wall behind the sink and into the drain
@goldenineke2 жыл бұрын
@@darrenthebuilder ahhh of course. There’s that space on that side. Thanks Darren for explaining

wow, that concrete is far to wet, hopefully it doesn't crack later

You used a lot of sand and cement Darren. All those buckets full of concrete must give you long stretched arms and back pain..

architect's over speck absolutely everything nowadays, especially with steels, its as if they have shares in the stuff.

I tell you this much now you have a lawyer pretty sure no one will play with your contract or money now
@imconfused12372 жыл бұрын
Easier said than done. Some trash go through life knocking everyone; champagne life on lemonade money. If you work an honest day you should get an honest pay. As for contracts - lovely idea but try getting one enforced: cost a fortune in legal, then get the runaround from trash spitting you £25/mth for 50yrs. Beautiful 🤨 If someone knocks me, I rip it down. If they wanna take me to court, go for it.
