Coruscating music ! The interplay between the lead guitar, the "chugging music " , and Hannah's soaring but subtle vocals is for me sublime. The new (Sept 2024) album promises to my favourite album of (2024) even better than the brilliant effort from Natasha Khan aka Bat for Lashes. Incidentally her best yet. Her "white chalk" (Polly Harvey's masterpiece imo) . This is great modern music and again gives a lie to those who claim that there is no music around to day to compare with past decades like the 1950's/60's/70's/80's/90's etc.

This is a SO underrated band.
@keithbate94055 ай бұрын
No ! Their debut album got to Number 2 in the album charts . Their other 2 albums got to number 1, as will the new album in September. Moreover, they have sold out medium sized venues . Now they are in the process of touring in larger venues. They packed out the Tent at Glastonbury over 10 years ago. At the (2024) Glastonbury they headlined the Park stage on Sunday evening and attracted a huge audience. For me the UK's best band of the last 10 years .

Have the Rolling Stones progressed in 62 years ? Cold play in 25 years ?
@philiptaylor69116 ай бұрын
It’s not all about progression it’s about trying a different sound , production , and engineering, as for cold play I can not comment not a great fan , as for the stones yes they have tried and accomplished different sounds and styles on several of their albums not so much in the later years granted but in the first 30 years they did . I am a great fan of London Grammar the first album was great and sounded new and refreshing the vocals of Hannah were without doubt superb and the trio meshed very well , come to second album I was somewhat disappointed that it didn’t reach the same height of the first . Fast forward 10 years and it sounds the same . Not any progression in style or production . Maybe it’s down to management if it sells then why change that format. Bit of a waste of talent if you ask me .
@keithbate94056 ай бұрын
@@philiptaylor6911 The Who , Dire Straits, U2, REM , Oasis . Did any of those bands radically change their sound ? REM a little maybe. The rest no. Actually I disagree strongly with you re LG . I agree that the first Two albums were similar in style. But the third album "Californian soil had a totally different feel to it with Tracks like "America ", "Talking " , "Talking " , "I need the night" When I first heard those tracks i did not much care for them. I now think that that album is their best yet, because they did alter their style. LG are one of the best most talented bands of the last 10 years plus. I look at their contemporaries like Coldplay, Adele, Ed Sheeran etc Plus the bands I have mentioned above. Those bands and artists fail your test far more than LG. For you to say that it is a waste of talent is just not wrong is an insult to the band members. it is also ego eccentric. ps go and write for the music press. You would fit in well .

Surely you like a band because of their sound? Why would you want them to change?
@keithbate94055 ай бұрын
@@DA-ui4uc well said . But I think their last album had a totally different feel to the first two albums. IMO their best yet. Although I know many would disagree . Not long now to wait for their 4th album (Mid September )

This band is being carried by something; and it certainly isn't by any merit of anyone that is in the band. Sounds like boredom, everyone there looks bored (including the band members), I'm bored just watching and having to make this comment. Just quit and do something for a while and then come back to music. Everyone will be much happier. This just looks like everyone knows they are wasting their time, and no one is enjoying it. Pull the band for their own sakes.
@Anu_bix3 ай бұрын
You didn’t need to write this comment if it’s so boring and you’re bored why not just leave the video? The band members are enjoying themselves and Hannah is going through a lot of shit yet still came to perform that’s effort and dedication also they had a rather long break already post their last album lol
@Jmob4life3 ай бұрын
@@Anu_bix I wrote what I did in hopes the manager and label sees the comment. Obviously, it looks like they are occupied with their own lives and don't function as a band. The entirety of the art is non-functional at that point. Anyone doing art for the sake of going through the motions needs to find a way to do something else. It's a corpse band being held up in part by the singer's old persona; but mainly held up by people behind the scenes. None of this is said in malice. It's simply a pattern that repeats itself with artists and the most damage is being done to the artists (those in the band). The label just needs to cut them loose for the sake of respecting them as humans and not their puppets.
