I think she resisted the notion that in order to make good music, female pop singers have to introspect and fret over their insecurities and anxieties. That's not necessarily a bad thing to do, but it's not necessarily good either, and it has led to a lot of so-so sophomore albums from apparently talented performers ... Whereas Dua's second album was pop perfection throughout every track, and the best record she could possibly make. And she deserves to be congratulated for that.

The most important take away from this is to realize that her success is 1 in 10 million. Talent isn't enough anymore. Thousands of talented artists out there that will NEVER get the break she got. The music industry is full of people who are struggling to achieve even a fraction of the success she has. Many can't even make a full-time living off it, and there are countless stories of people who gave up.
