The music industry is full of people who are struggling to achieve even a fraction of the success she has. Many can't even make a full-time living off it, and there are countless stories of people who gave up. Whether that is largely due to a lack of talent/skill or a lack of luck, the point still stands that there are many stars that have to align for you to become a household name, especially in the genre as brutal as pop.

I think she resisted the notion that in order to make good music, female pop singers have to introspect and fret over their insecurities and anxieties. That's not necessarily a bad thing to do, but it's not necessarily good either, and it has led to a lot of so-so sophomore albums from apparently talented performers ... Whereas Dua's second album was pop perfection throughout every track, and the best record she could possibly make. And she deserves to be congratulated for that.

You're distorting the issue about that controversy. The problem was about portraying Israel as the perpetrator and accusing it of "genocide", when the facts are quite the opposite.
