Ive just sat and had this on the back ground while gaming. I have a few things to say. As a passenger on bussy busses for close to 10 years, i don't think of a bus or traindriver as rude for calling out passengers blocking the doors. As long as its not someone who's getting on or off though a crowd of people. But some jerks see there are no seats left so just lean agains the doors and then wont let them open or stuff like that. They might not want to go to school or work but if I'm late i might miss my midterm test that day or miss my connection to go on a work experience day. Ive seen drivers throw people out and for good reasons. And you have (in my humble opinion) handled yourself very well. Keeping passengers informed repeatedly, etc...

You mentioned the tunnel telephone wires. There were 2 systems back in the day. The handset which you rightly say was carried by the drivers ( issued tested and signed for at the start of any duty that bought a train out of depot) This unit discharged traction current when clipped into the TT wires. There was also DRICO, which was built into the cabs which utilised the same wire but did not discharge traction current. Certain trips had a timetabled stop in the tunnel for the driver to carry out a DRICO test. I’m guessing that the D stock were the last to be equipped with this even though train radio was more or less rolled out my the time I was a District Guard in early 84. Just a bit of trivia. Things have moved on a lot since I left in the late 80s

Really enjoyed this one Dale. Your life is not all green signals and it is quite amazing how a single failure (at Earl's Court if I heard your radio correctly) caused such as long-lasting knock-on effect to everything really. Please let us know that you did get a break, that you hopefully didn't drive too far West and most important, you got to have a pee! You are kind of trapped although I suppose you could open the door when you are stuck at a signal inside the tunnel. Who is going to see you? However, make sure you are not on the side with the live rail !!

I can only imagine all the different things people do in, on, and around Tube trains when they're having a less-than-brilliant moment of it... somehow I doubt those folks who can't figure out how doors work are the worst of it. But, I imagine they _are_ rather common... for better or worse, sir, may I say that your wit in chastising them, both remotely via YT vid, and over the announcer system, is not only appreciated but makes me cackle uproariously. Of course, best of health to the child with the seizure. My goodness... and thank you, Dale, for NOT filming that, that is a hard day indeed and not a spectacle to be broadcast. There's something that looks like a giant freezer on the platforms at the mouth of the tunnel where you pull up. All kinds of stuff. Would be very interesting. Also your thoughts on the graffiti.
