This so concisely and nicely wraps up the link between mace and staff. Thank you!

Taekwondoist here. Also US Army veteran, book, author, course creator. Love your work. I have to get a club sometime this year. I’m still working on my waterbag (sandbag alternative) drills 💪🏼

Well done Mark !! Sadly I missed u in Britain but I will try to keep an eye for next seminar and I will try to be there. I am big fun of yours, thanks for introducing me to the Kettlebells, Clubs and Maces!! Great tools that changed my way of training. Cloud u tell me one think though... Some old masters used to say that heavy lifting and training with weights slowed u down and that's way they used to avoid it in their training routine. But nowadays it seems like this kind of thinking is consider as backwards thinking and nobody does that anymore. What are you thoughts on that? All the best!!

Were there any bruised fingers at the seminar?

Lol, people realised quickly that caffeine is less important when doing the OODA drills because their alertness was instantly wired. The training sessions were led with instructions to watch for training partner's signs of fatigue and slow down when needed. Main point being to give people the opportunity to learn which happens better when given time to process and gain experience. One or two fingers did get bruised. Mainly when the attacker "pulled" their strike at the last second in an attempt to protect the defender, changing the landing point of the strike in the process.

Sounds awesome. I was kind of kidding with the "bruised fingers " question. I'm going to the Austin seminar and really looking forward to it. I've been using heavy clubs for a couple years, but no experience with mace or staff

You definitely thought of having 2 students "drop swinging" at each other…What made you not to do it?
