That's a nice technique. In the marine corps. We were taught to clear the airway, swing your hips to the opponents center of gravity and flip them over your shoulders the stomp on their head. Game over for the opponent. Now of course that is combat style fighting so you will have to omit the head stomp . But all in all JUDO FLIP! As Austin Powers says. Lol. Thanks again sifu. Keep the techniques flowing. Very helpful : )
@premier695 жыл бұрын
yeah one kinda has to stop just before the head stomp which is sometimes unfortunate because some people will only go on to try hurting more people throughout their lives. still, can permanently handicap them ;) make it harder for them to hurt anyone else in the future.

Ever since it became the social norm for phones to babysit people, I've noticed how lax people have become at paying attention to their surroundings. Mainly because I pay attention to my surroundings. 😊 Fighting, getting jumped in my adolescence, and a life of public transit helped me to understand awareness as the first step to stay safe. Once had a guy (a regular customer that frequented my job) attempt to walk up behind me one night when walking home from work. He had no idea I had already spotted him. He was several feet behind me, when I called him by his name and calmly said, "Hey L.". He said, "Girl you got eyes in the back of your head!". I said, "I have to with people like you in these streets.". He laughed his ass off. I knew his character enough to know he would laugh, but I also know, you NEVER know what people are capable of. A coin has several sides.

Thank you for the video, grateful that you are keeping it real !! Another example could be that you are sitting on public transport and the person behind you gets you in a R.N.C, you know, they could be sitting in a seat behind you, harder to prevent and to counter-attack..

In my utmost humble opinion. Again, spot on! “ Belts are nothing, Skill is something, but intent is everything” “ Fighting is relativity in motion, never expect only respond, as it one’s opponent within context that dictates tactics” Ie mindset. As there are no guarantees only opportunities, either those you were able to take, or the ones that one can( sadly) /unfortunately miss. This is why what Sifu Phillips points out is so important, that he actually addresses that this is not a movie, and especially when concerning aggravated assaults within the context of ambush, you as the “ defender” will always be on the disadvantage. It is the strikes/ attacks that one doesn’t see that puts you down, this is why when in regards to self preservation/ protection within transitional spaces, you must never allow your attacker to take you to a secondary location( ie abduction etc) statistically speaking, one can find that the moment the attacker is able to drag the victim into a secondary location( context matters) ie he drags you to a shop with spectators ( vs into an abandoned ally) in short, the chance of survival plummets into single digit percentage-wise. As he/she no longer has anything else to require of you materialistically( and now desires/ wants) something even more sinister. :-/ “ There is no such thing as an easy fight, this is why it is called a fight” Being active pro-active and train with the mindset that you have only two choices if such an event be thrust upon you, either fight to flight/ or flee, never freeze, and even that can be hard, this is why one’s training( no matter the art) is recommended to include some elements that deals with such factors, as one will have less fear of the evils that is known. Sincere regards. Fellow martial brother. Tom Framnes Norway #Fightboss

I love this video, truly gets me thinking. My dad, former military, used to teach me how to get out of a choke hold. He crossed his arm over my neck, then raised his other arm over the crossed one and wrapped it around his head, effectively locking out any available resistance. As you state in the video, shock and surprise is key. If someone is trying to murder me with a choke hold and leads into it with a punch, What would one recommend to get out of such a hold?

Years ago I was attacked a group of young thugs on bikes and foot, yes I should have been more aware but I heard nothing then boom I was hit in the back of my head with a cement brick. Now I’m not going to get into details on location but it was isolated except for a couple houses. I don’t know how but as soon as I got hit I saw that flash I spun around and grabbed my cellphone out my pocket. My cellphone was silver l..as I was getting hit with a barrage of punches By the grace of God some lady started screaming off her front porch please don’t kill my baby please at the top of her lungs. Bleeding and beatMy attacker’s they fled. And I ran the opposite way. I think their purpose was to rob me and just beat me down and kill me possibly.Someone was looking after me because I have no idea who that lady was, no one else was around. But hey I am here and learned about situational awareness the HARD WAY. And I am surprised how hard I got hit but knew right away what was happening. I have come a long way.

the biggest problem is in reality they pull you in close and hug you so it limits your range to turn your body like that but.. it's like my thinking with someone says you can't do that when they have a gun at you, well I'm not going to let them just shoot me freely if that's what their intentions are past what I give them or take on me. Thank you for all your wonderful advice and your amazing for wanting to keep the public safe with actual street fight knowledge vs movie action stuff that wouldn't ever work in a street fight for the average citizen.

If surprised like that - I'd just hit the ground. Drop myself hard - so to take him with me. He can't hold my weight - so he either has to let go or fall. Usually he lets go. So now you're back up and facing him. If he holds on - then you work at once to get on top. It's all about changing the situation as fast as you can. And dropping yourself - which is unexpected - does that.
