Number one best feature you didn’t talk about that the idol has over EVERY other marker is the Tooless frame swap between mech and electric. R5 and dye aren’t even mech compatible so the luxe really is like buying one marker and e two

@@RepentanceGarden I was using TM40 as my main gun after my shocker amp started giving me issues. I’ve only played with the Teahupo’o last Sunday because I took a long break when I bought it last year. It’s the first custom gun I ever bought so I don’t want to rough it up, and kind of treat it like a trophy gun.

​@littletweeter1327 honestly idk how Dye ups the game, their DSR is amazing and with some many PLs dipping their hands in on their midrange vs their high end, if you can keep your costs and ideas flowing in that $1100~ category (the old high end IMO...) you should rule the market. Honestly the amount of people I see shooting a DSR, vs many other markers that you could choose is incredible. It's weasled it's way into the talks with PE and DLX. If they just made one with a better grip that didn't cut into the skin between my thumb and index finger, I'd probably have one by now. (Mech frame btw)

It's interesting that macdev is never included in these comparisons. Does macdev not pay to be included or is it because lonewolf never has them in stock?

I think it's simply MacDev isn't really talked about, nor do their markers seem to stick around. Beyond that, which companies promote their products all the time vs which don't. Can't tell you the last time I saw ANY MacDev ad outside a marker trailer video. Every other company also has a variety of markers with price ranges. Take PE for example: if you buy an emek, you would know the PE platform, and perhaps go to the next step with an ETHA, (maybe GTEK but that's a decade old,) then 180r, then CS3 depending on your budget, and all markers will be the same at heart (Gamma core) so maintenence and knowledge of that said marker is easily transferable, just with a new thing here or there you have to learn after the introductory purchase (electronics, reg, etc). MacDev on the other hand, only has a high end marker, which NO one that's just getting into paintball is interested in paying. Heck even hearing an entire setup that's halfway decent is around $800 would turn most around, and that's with a low-ish end marker. Gotta have presence, or you simply aren't present.

From my understanding Macdev had really really bad aftersales support and QC issues for a while. So much so that vendors got fed up and dropped them. Supposedly they're trying to turn that image around and Immortal Air is taking on the challenge of stocking their parts and selling their guns. I think the GT2 looks pretty sweet, actually considering one. But yeah, obviously the guys reviewing them here won't have it in the round up because at the end of the day it's about selling, and they don't sell MacDev.

r5 is having issues when using a ctrl or spire. Idol shoots absolute money. M3's always a good shooter but its dated, more ppl like the DSR over the M3 so wont be surprised if the next DSR becomes the flagship marker

if you go with the idol just save money and get a TM40. My TM40 i just got rid of always out did my buddies idol to where he just stopped using the idol.

All im gonna say is this. A regular DSR+ used starts at $600-$650 the IM prokit and the exalt thumbscrew are about an extra $100. I have a geo IV and unless they made thE R5 20x smoother than the IV, its just wasting money on a “brand new” system that has barely changed. Ive personally shot a DSR+ and I like that thing more than M3S.

I have both the DSR + Icon and Geo R5. Both fantastic markers. I would go with whichever you can get the best deal on.

@@Connor00077Right because features are more important then how the marker shoots. The DSR+ is the better shooting marker. It’s also more reliable and a workhorse. The screen on the m3+ does not make it better lol
