Well done on this hurricane like trip! Glad your Amok survived the last one that was mad. Boomer is such a good boy. Seeing you both taking shelter for some reason brought back dear memories of my late 28year old little black cat Bijou. I used to love spending time in my gazebo in all weathers, watching the wildlife and, my little Bijou used to be with me in it patiently keeping me company unfazed by wild weather while the fabric was beating in the wet wind. The precious times we get with our pets are so special. Loved the fire it was another work of art the way you organised it.

Well , I have to say you sure are one resilient camper....out in the elements , rain , snow , wild winds and still you weather it all and sleep away...you and Boomer in the hammock. It was nice though that you packed Boomer into your coat for the trek out....I am sure he was happy to not have to walk out in the rain with his fur all soaking wet. Keep doing what you are doing..we are all learning from your experiences. Just me....kiki🙂

Hey Mate : I once made a raincoat out of a garbage bag for my Yorkshire dog and tied it with a bit of cordage I poked legholes in it . It kept him warm and dry , even in a Monsoon rain in Brasil ! This might be an option for Boomer during heavy rain storms in NS . DML

Next time your out there and you know it's going to rain, pull the sides of your tarp as close to the ground as possible. Within a few inches is preferable. You wouldn't get nearly as wet.
