Could you discuss the design and the Dianetics of the "Shimano flat fall" type lure

is it possible that some lipless lures designed to cast in the wrong direction, will turn around in the air? In my mind turning around would be the path of least resistance
@EngineeredAngler Жыл бұрын
It's possible but the wind drag and friction drag coming from the line usually rules.

@@EngineeredAngler . Thanks Mr Engineer, its a 4 year old video, never thought you d be the one to answer my question. Must say I have seen many videos on the lure subject but if its about deeper knowledge or understanding of characteristics of lures I seek, its you channel I look for!!! If by any chance I end up beeing a good lure builder you should know you had great impact on its fruition.

Do you cut your own lexan lip blanks for your jelly bean crank bait or buy them already made?
@EngineeredAngler6 жыл бұрын
I have done both...if I can find a pre-made lip, I buy them. But, I don't let it limit what I design, I'll make one to fit if I need to.
@EngineeredAngler6 жыл бұрын
No I don't cut any lexan lips anymore I used to. The three quarter by three-quarter lips Square bill seem to work really well and they're not that expensive

this is what im looking for. actual science on lures. im starting hand carving my own and i wanna blow my friends out of the water.
@EngineeredAngler5 жыл бұрын
thank you...the most difficult part of hand carving is symmetry. Try to keep the design simple, the more complex the shape, fins, tail, etc. the harder it is to get it symmetric. Asymmetry will ruin a lure....good luck.
