how long did this trip take? I assume you kept landing due to refuelling?

Hi Chris! Based on the data gathered by the Garmin VIRB on board, it looks like they departed Addison, TX, at about 10:15 AM and reached Destin, FL, at around 5:30 PM. Thanks for watching!

Did you require any endorsements or anything for this trip? I am interested in obtaining my SPL. I have 49 hours dual received for my Private, but I think the LSA option might fit better for my desire of flying. I just want to fly LSA aircraft for fun! xD I live near Destin, FL!

What were your typical leg lengths, time wise, and how fatiguing was it? That seems like a pretty brutal trip for hand flying the whole way..

Hi twsbbl! This video was provided to us by an owner so we can't answer with specificity about the details of his flight, but luckily the SportCruiser boasts 2-axis autopilot with VNAV and approach coupling capability to make those long cross country trips much more enjoyable! Thanks for watching!

Looks fun! I'm thinking about getting a SportCrusier... Any down side? Issues to look for?

basic411 Useful load isnt the best. But if it meets your mission requirements, is a great and fun plane to fly. By comparison, my FD CTSW doesnt look as sporty (by a long shot), but I can actually put some fuel in it... ;)

is the telemetry data from the virb?
@ThrustFlight
@ThrustFlight 8 жыл бұрын
+FusedIntention Yes! The VIRB camera records data from sensors within the camera for speed, altitude, G-force, GPS position and more, and can overlay this data directly onto the video itself

Did this pilot have a sport license or a private pilot license? If they had a PP, any reason this trip couldn't be done by a sport pilot? Thx.

would this be more efficient (time, cost, and fuel) than a Cessna 172 on the same trip?
@ThrustFlight
@ThrustFlight 6 жыл бұрын
Hi KG7YTS! It depends on many different factors. For us, the SportCruiser is one of our cheapest aircrafts to rent hourly compared to the Cessna 172, however, the Cessna will be able to hold more gas allowing for longer distances without stops. How much distance you'll be able to fly will also depend on other factors such as wind and how fast you're flying. Hope this helps and thanks for watching!

What cruise altitude did you generally maintain?
@ThrustFlight

On a cross country trip like this one, 7500 MSL is fairly typical for the SportCruiser - keeping in mind that on this particular trip, MSL is nearly the same as AGL. Thanks for watching!

Do you have an air conditioner in the cabin?
@ThrustFlight
@ThrustFlight 6 жыл бұрын
Hi Danny Gilbert! The SportCruiser does not come natively equipped with an A/C unit, however, they have vents that circulate the air from outside into the cabin. Thanks for watching!
