Getting clean and sober was no joke so to the person that asked the Q about sobriety- I’m so proud of you!!!! It took me to my late 30’s to let go of substances! I just hit 5 and a half years clean and sober this month. I’m also proud of you Fern for figuring out your relationship to alcohol so early on - I wish I had. I literally lost everything and have had to crawl out of addiction . My plant hobby helps me so much.

Good job! Same here, took me til 29 years of age and phew the toll it took on me physically was insane :( and now the mental toll because I’m not used to dealing with stress the proper way lol, plants are such a blessing and help so much with stress but also they can *ADD* too my stress.

I don’t know if this will help you. But I get like this a lot. So now I have a cheap fish tank with some gravel at the bottom and a bunch of my plants live in their with a filter and aerator on a timer as well as the grow light above. These are all plants that’s need watering often and I’ve been able to step away for two weeks at a time and not worry about my favourites. Hope this helps and that the ups and downs don’t send you spiralling too often x

You can do bulbs. It’s not too late. As long as you can dig in the ground. I’ve planted bulbs in November.
@Kepexd3 ай бұрын
I think the ground should be 10°C and go colder from there. Atleast in Finland its not even the time to plant bulbs yet. Too warm and I can't believe we've had such warm days in September! If you plant them too early they start to grow already. Also if its really being on - degrees (C), you can cover them up with some chopped tree bark or gauze. Its not late yet :)

I`m not surprised you're sober. I think I got the vibe from all the books and board games.🤓🎲📚 Becoming sober is one of the best decision I have made in my life. I honestly wish I had made it earlier. Also vegetarian for 30 years now/vegan for 14. Being sober & vegan is much easier today than it was. So many alternatives are available and it is not as 'weird' as it used to be. People are curious and open about it. I wish I had more sober & vegan people among my friends. ✌🏼🌿🥤

19:38 as far as the garden is concerned, I absolutely agree with your thoughts. I feel like because it’s compostable and goes back into the earth, it’s not so bad if there is some waste. Use what you can, give away or donate what you can, just doing what you can in general is better than nothing. At the end of the day, it fulfilled its purpose for getting you out in the sun, putting some food on you and others tables, gaining some practice and saving a little coin in the process is pure success!

I’ve kinda gotten away from Hoya recently, I’ve got a select few right now, selling my more common ones that are overgrown, I’ve gotta make room for all the plants I put outside for the summer I gave up my bookshelf to plants… trying to rectify that with my purge rn When I start my garden next year, whatever we don’t use or give to fam and friends, I’ll be taking to our food bank, they’re always so short on produce, and they’ve helped me in the past in my drinking days, sober now, I wanna give back, so even when grocery shopping I pick up what I appreciated getting when I had to go, and donate it If I don’t get outdoors enough, or especially in winter, I tan at a salon for my mental health, this and vitamin b, and magnesium work wonders. I started with flower gardening this year, LOTS TO LEARN!! You’re lucky you realized alcohol is a poison early, I got addicted so badly I almost ruined my life, almost unalived myself multiple times. To battle the hangover and anxiety I’d drink more. So grateful for every day now and for AA that stuck with me until I stopped for good. My whole family’s been affected as well, fell right into that loop. I have that lil swinging pot too, I put my living stones in it, looks like his brains showing 😂 Always appreciate you and what you give ❤❤❤

What I want to say : I thought is gonna be hard to quit alcohol- because of social pressure and all those kind of occasions…. But this was the easiest part 🥹 the headrest was to face myself and my feelings which was masking all of those years …. Make me just unhappy in general - now because I take this journey and I did care about my mental health 🌷🌺 light came over after real darkness - there is no even 1 thing about I miss about drinking 🪷 plants help me deal with balance and all journey 🥹 That’s a part of growing - we can see another perspective after years - if is alkohol, school, relationships and whatever 💚🌷 send You so much positive vibes Fern and all of You! 🫶🏻
