I haven't ridden this bike yet, but I have loved it from the moment I set my eyes on it. This will be my next bike. Great video, thumbs up.

Slinging Lead xsr700 is my first bike. I saw it and similar to you, I loved the look of it and had to have it. When the time came, it’s now in the driveway 😎

I've had and my XSR700 for two months now and so far I am really happy. In my opinion it needs couple of mods like a tail tidy and mirrors.

Completely agree, and an exhaust if you can afford it! Awesome bikes. Just keep them clean! Don't let that rust set in!

This was a super solid review! You should do more of these, but maybe do a little on-camera intro to make it more personal.

could you explain what you mean by on-camera intro? glad you enjoyed and appreciate all feedback!

Just passed my A license. I was contemplating this one or mt09. The mpg sold it 4 me. Thanks

Thanks for this! I’ve watched 1000 videos on this bike and no one ever mentioned the bike rusting away after 2 years. I think I’ll have to find something else to buy.
@NIXVIDS4 жыл бұрын
Yeah, may have just been my bike and do take into account that it was kept outside for most of its life, but the swing arm was the worst and the cheap bolts had just started when I sold it
@northernowl70872 жыл бұрын
Pay 15k for a bmw and leave it outside and see how long that lasts before you have a 15k pile of rust

I wish you took some pictures of the rust issues. Do you think the MT-09 will have the same issues in the future? Do you know what caused the rust?
@NIXVIDS5 жыл бұрын
The main areas of rust were the rear shock and the welds on the rear swing arm at the point where the axle for the rear wheel is. Please bare in mind that my bike was kept outside under a cover for most of its life, so was exposed to the elements.

rust is caused by oxidation of the metal .

20,000 in two years "impressed" plenty out there take 20 years to do the same. :-) It's good to have a review with that kind of mileage on a bike. As for the scratches, only to be expected for a bike that gets used like it should, well done Bud.
@NIXVIDS3 жыл бұрын
Yeah I loved it mate! And yeah racked up the miles on it but it was loved! And yeah yeah scratches are to be expected just be aware of the rust mt07s have the same issue! Glad you enjoyed the video!

You could have a lot more fun with aftermarket pipes. the stock pipes are just too quiet

Resale is gonna be heartbreaking. What happens 5 years down the road ? All the reviews say it's a nice bike that evaporates in front of your eyes. could this be Yamaha's disposable bike?
@NIXVIDS5 жыл бұрын
Hopefully not such an awesome bike! Hope it lasts for ever miss mine alot!
@andyreeves77335 жыл бұрын
Resale won't be such an issue at all really. When a clean cbr f4i can still fetch 2500 or a bit more, you would have to absolutely give the bike away to be worse off and let's face it, nobody is going to just give this bike away. Matter of fact, I think this bike will turn into a bit of a cult fixture.

Would you recommend for someone relatively inexperienced?
@NIXVIDS5 жыл бұрын
It's a very easy to ride motorcycle, but if you have never riden a bike before on the road I would recommend getting it restricted or looking at bikes with lower CC 😊
@The6550s5 жыл бұрын
@@NIXVIDS thanks for quick response. I have motorcycle experience, it's just been 20 or so years since I've ridden. I like everything I've seen and read about the XSR900, but know that's too much bike. If it's your opinion 700cc's might still be too much, I may take a closer look at the Royal Enfield bikes. Cheers.
@NIXVIDS5 жыл бұрын
My dad has a royal Enfield Bullet 500, it's a gorgeous bike, but really uncomfortable and it rattles. I would recommend the xsr700 as you obviously have road experience and riding experience. Hope this all helps you make the right desision for you.
@stevengary75015 жыл бұрын
The 6550's. Hey mate. I have just purchased one (3weeks old) I haven’t got any previous riding experience. I absolutely love it. It doesn’t feel like too much bike. To be fair I believe the Australian version is restricted. Just be careful with throttle control. The bike has a ton of torque.
@lydoel5 жыл бұрын
so you are selling your bike just because the warranty goes out? kind of limiting yourself to only ride completely new motorcycles

What is the best you can get to the gallon? I played what you said four times and can't tell what you're saying. You're selling it because the warranty was coming to an end? Are you serious? Yamahas don't break down.
