Sup, I have got an fz1 with code 14 and 22. Still rebuilding and don’t have the airbox + installed. I switched the key on and no response from start button. Does not having the airbox sensor plug prevent from starting?
@rhetericalpha3 жыл бұрын
Ok so I did some looking at the service manual and code 14 is Intake Air Pressure. It also says you are able to start the motorcycle and ride without it connected. Error code 22 is Intake Air Temperature sensor and it says you are able to start and operate the motorcycle with this disconnected. So the no start condition is not due to these codes.
@rhetericalpha3 жыл бұрын
I guess I should ask what were you rebuilding/repairing? Do you have the ignition kill button on the right setting. When switching it did you hear the fuel pump? Does it crank over at all? Do you have it in gear? And is the kick stand down? Is there anymore codes?
@jettran44653 жыл бұрын
@@rhetericalpha plugged in the air box sensor and code 22 is cleared. Still getting code 14 but I can’t find where the air pressure sensor would be/connect. Also I’m still diagnosing, I can’t find neutral, I believe that’s why the bike won’t crank.
@rhetericalpha3 жыл бұрын
@@jettran4465 the intake pressure sensor is located behind the airbox on the right side. It is mounted on the fuel rail. Your neutral safety switch probably popped or went bad. Is this a wrecked motorcycle? It is located on the back of the engine right in front of the shock
@jettran44653 жыл бұрын
@@rhetericalpha Hey, so background is that this is my second yamaha fz1 bike. and i don't believe it was wrecked but I do believe it was disassembled for the frame crack repair. I got ownership with the the bike in a skeletons state. I used my good bike as a blueprint to reassemble it. back to diagnosing: when I switch the key on, i get a check engine light and code 14. I went through the service manual "self diagnostic mode" pages 8-38 to 8-50. everything checked out fine. My shifter only goes down and up 2 (so that's not normal). I can't get it to shift into neutral. I would try to free up the transmission by rolling the bike but I don't have a front sprocket on at the moment. which brings up my next question: how is a front sprocket mounted? is it just a bolt or is there a concave washer?

How difficult is it to replace the rear shock on the 2008 FZ1 with a 2015 R1 shocks?
@rhetericalpha3 жыл бұрын
with that year of shock I'm not sure. but there is an adapter you can buy that is machined very well and it fits earlier R1 shocks. takes all but of 20 minutes to install. i have a video where i do that to this raffle bike
