Nice man, you made it part of the way. It's a good hike. I've only been up past the second tower to the third, which is collapsed. I wonder if you could come in from the top via the Cerro Gordo road? The adit in the other canyon, green tailings, was part of the Clark Beryl mine, but it's a copper contact zone. Haven't been in, but hiked above it to the beryl outcrop. Hope you make up to the end of the cable.

@americanminerals9538 it would be a long ways from Cerro Gordo, did a little more research and the mine is just right on the edge of that top Ridge, not to much farther but just a lot of elevation gain in short distance. Going to give her a run again but this time bring more than a single granola bar 😆 And cool the Clark Beryl mine, I'm actually headed there today to explore that mine and drainage, should be fun. And thanks for watching ✌️

Nice hike man! I come out to INYO/DV every March. This year will be taking the keene wonder mine route up to chroride and then probably down happy or titus canyon. That should kill 2-3 days and the rest thinking im gonna head up to wildrose canyon and just hike up until the snow stops me, camp and come back. Love these videos btw.

Keene Wonder Mine and the CHLORIDE cliffs are going to be epic, your going to love the views and the old machinery. Also if you go up wildrose check out Harrisburg, that's where the Legend Shorty Harris had his Mine. And thanks for watching ✌️

Wow... Great views of the Haystack, Alabamas and beyond. Would be an awesome ride if you could make something with a brake to ride that cable down with.

Cool, Thanks for that, I've also found those lower towers years ago but never made it past the first two collapsed ones. Love exploring the area but usually limited to the first few hours of the day since we only go during the summer when we're camped in the Sierra somewhere. The one I've really wanted to do is the old Kearsarge mine across the valley from this tramway.

@Trail_Trash On The Sierra Side, or would it be closer to Kearsarge. Just wondering because we will go check it out, I'll do some research on her. Also yeah, I would have pushed to the top but only had 1 granola bar with me, I will be back to see where the cable takes me, hopefully to some treasures way up in the INYOs. Again thanks for watching

@@LOSTWORLDCREW It's off the Onion Valley rd past Grey's meadow campground, It's a fairly gnarly hike from an old guy's prospective but up to 10-11K feet where the mine was, lots left behind because of the remoteness or difficulty getting there. Lot's of history on it with a somewhat large population before being wiped out by avalanche a time or two? There is a website on Owens valley history that has a bit about a mule team going up and cleaning up some of the toxic stuff that was left behind. Good Luck.

You're like a damn billygoat up there man. I'd like to know how they made those operations profitable back in the day. All that infrastructure, lumber, equipment, etc + wages & everything to feed & house people all in the middle of nowhere... all that before trucks/trains/boats to go get processed. I seriously can't imagine how all that could end in profits.
