That would be quite meaningless, seeing adult pictures of children you never knew anyway. The only way that would work is to have the now adult 'children' play the same scene they did as children again as adults and show them side by side. Sorry, I'm too tired to try and phrase this better.

I disagree. I think Chris probably preferred it that way, because he could be more comedic and make humorous references to the lack of accessibility. It's different because he's a comedian, he has a heap of self-confidence, he makes self-deprecating blind jokes and the quiz isn't really answered or scored that seriously. I imagined the producers would have definitely ran it past him first and he happily agreed to it. It's not like he was going on Mastermind or something serious and they gave the other sighted contestants an unfair advantage.

Like how disabled people should have been normal, but they were missing a limb. So something being incomplete due to disability.

Of course, the actual joke is that it's a shit joke, and the punchline is him explaining it. It's a deft work of timing and tone to get that delayed laugh. I appreciate the craft of it

My impression is that he intended it to be funny but it crashed, and then him explaining it just happened to be funny, both through clarifying the humour of the original joke (which was admittedly pretty corny) but also through the self-deprecation in him admitting the original joke crashed.

Why did we not get to see Richard's picture from 20 years ago? Also, there are so many visual elements to this quiz that I feel bad for Chris. Once they invited him they should have gone through more effort to not include so many pictures and videos, on the other hand that is what the quiz traditionally has been like. It just comes across a bit awkward when Jimmy says "take a look at this picture, what was the deal with this?" and they show the blind guy looking lost.

The Richard not having a picture thing is an inside joke because he always looked the same, and while I agree that it's a bit weird to keep the visual elements in, I am pretty sure Chris knew that and was fine with it when he came on the show.
