An advise as a beginner to pros, wear a helmet peeps. I know u think it looks noobish, but nah, it looks badass when this one pro zips past you in full gear and confident in himself. It's kinda like when this guy is riding his motorcycle at 200+ and doesn't wear any gear, we call him a squid. But this guy fully suited up doing the same thing, we be like "Daammmmmmnnnnnn"

@ChesireWaltz
@ChesireWaltz 5 жыл бұрын
@@muffinedits165 It's better than nothing but the issue is longboarding helmets are made to protect the back of your head and bikes the front. Since when you fall on a longboard it tends to shoot forward and try to throw you off backwards while bikes you tend to go over the front of the handlebars. So they're made for different things and hitting the back of the head is serious so I'd grab a longboarding helmet.

@@ler8957 well a lot of teachers these days don't even educate they just teach politics that are useless in daily life public school has become so radicalized by politics that my future kids will either be homeschooled or in a private school that doesn't tolerate that kind of bullcrap. Especially that racist CRT lunacy crap that teaches white kids that they're all racist and black kids that all they have to do is cry and complain to get what they want. Which not only is racist towards white people but it's also degrading towards black people and I don't support it one bit. If they actually taught basic human decency that would be fine but right now politics have taken over schools and it's sickening to the core of the very social fabric of society.

Hey Spencer I just started out with longboarding and hilariously the hardest part for me is pushing and gaining speed on a longboard, especially on rough surfaces (even sidewalk "cracks") I tend to lose balance when I'm pushing pretty hard (maybe on the 2nd-3rd push) -so my question is: where do you put your weight? I've been putting weight on my pushing foot when I'm pushing, and this is because I've found if I put too much weight on the foot on the board, I tend to get caught up in the cracks on sidewalks (they're reasonably deep here) and the board stops suddenly and I fall over. Thoughts on this?

put more weight on the foot that stays on the board, you should be able to stand on the board with just that foot on the bolts and balance. learning to push, try to push gently, but do it in smooth pavement so there isn't any annoying cracks lol

I taught myself basics on longboard just by feel and didn't realize I was pushing mongo. I was googling tricks to do and realized what I'd done, and heard it was harder to do some things in mongo. Was so bummed I basically had to restart from square one. Bright side is I retrained for all stances so I'm pretty evenly switch and can move into mongo if needed.

How can you keep that balance after you push ? Every time I push I can’t seem to separate my feet and face it the other direction? Help?

Angie Derival I don’t know if you still need help with this but I figured out by just committing. In the beginning it felt uncomfortable for me but I kept on trying and got used to it

I love your tutorials very much though. I would love to see if there are any tricks you can do on a long board as i cant imagine alot of people do kick flips or heal flips but then i could be wrong

I just got my first longboard today. It’s a 44 inch retrospec. I’m pretty new to longboarding, but have a bit of a background on skateboarding. On my skateboard, I would just jump off or tail stop when I’m going to fast. On the longboard, there is a tail, but I can’t reach it because the board is 44 inches. My neighborhood is all down hill. I had no problem skating the hills on my skateboard because the wheels and the bearings are pretty bad, meaning I don’t go that fast. On the longboard, I go super fast and always end up having to judos off when there’s a car, or I’m going to fast. How exactly do o stop on a longboard when I’m going fast/ down a hill, besides falling or jumping off?

I push mongo. Always have. I feel way more comfortable and have a lot more control with the longboard pushing this way. I’ve tried pushing regular and I feel like I look crazy pushing regular.

same. right handed and responding right leg to all 'tests', but for some reason i need it to be the post i stand on, while my left does the pushing. Still wondering why they suggest to have your dominant at the front for snowboarding and at the rear on a longboard, when balance-wise is the same feeling on the two

@@notectrl I don't think dominant hands necessarily mean you'll have a dominate foot the same way. I'm left handed but still ride "regular" stance.

Is this a problem. When I long board I always keep my front foot, the left foot, straight, and I keep my back foot sideways. I never change either, even when I am turning. After I push am I supposed to turn my left foot sideways as well, and then turn it back when I push?
