I actually recommend riding a long board before a skate board, I rode my friends long board a lot, and it reached me balance and feet placement, and pushing. Soon as you get a skate board, your already a few steps ahead, all you have to do is get comfortable with the diffrient types of turns, and the way the board moves differently

@@juan_1oo1o47 Do. Not. Buy. A. Penny. Board. See so many people eat it on one because small unstable wheel base, and flex in middle. If want something similar, get a landyachtz dingy. A million times better AND it's way more stable. Anything plastic skateboards these days, is just too sketchy. Hell, get a surf skate or a freeride downhill board. Those are atleast fun and something new to try.

I went from skating to longboard bombing and found out penny nickels are a great in-between because you can bomb hills just as big as on a longboard but you can also do tricks and they're easier to carry around. Plus they NEVER deteriorate. I've had the same one for like eight years.
