I've paused the video at 4:14 and I'm guessing that the funny review you're about to mention is the person claiming the notches are on the wrong side of the bow. It's almost like some people don't carry the Googly in their pockets, or something. 😂 Jokes aside, I just received my 45 pounder today, and deer season opens Tuesday. Excellent bow, thus far. I'm very much looking forward to filling the freezer with it this year. All right. Back to the video to see if I guessed correctly. Cheers! Edit: Called it! 😂 I believe a similar issue occurred with the Holmegaard bows, until someone realized the high side of the riser was actually the back of the bow.

@@zakwyldeproductions My pleasure. I plan on combing through your videos for any longbow content, as well. If I can ever justify spending the money on a yew stave, that'll be the very next bow I build. 😆

@@zakwyldeproductions Hello gentlemen! My recommendations are: If you really want to shoot authentically with this type of bow, use your thumb. This means an increase in draw length (plus power and arrow stabilization). In this style, run the arrow to the right and use an archer's ring. enjoy it!

Next step is to acquire bows made with 100% authentic materials in the ancient ways of our ancestors, though these take 1+ yrs to make due to the slow manufacturing process incl fish glues & sinews. Hence few people have the patience to put that effort in these days. Its why battles were called on account of rain, teh bows would fall apart when wet. Only 1 chinese maker remained after the cultural revolution, & they took grave risks burying a few bows. A few Hungarians still use teh old methods, at least they did last i checked a few yrs ago..

nice video where did you get the wooden arrows ive been looking all over for some wooden arrows.?

Great question and thanks for the comment 🙂. There should be plenty of options out there depending on what you want. We made the ones in this video having purchased the arrows, nocks, tips from a dedicated archery store however assembly would also require an arrow jig for a further cost. A good recommendation would be visiting a medieval reenactment market or event as there will often be archery trades there selling a good selection of tipped wooden arrows for target shooting.
