some things id suggest looking into as an LK5 Pro owner for abt 6 months: 1. BL touch 2. Marlin 2.0 (finally available through longer) 3. Garolite Bed (everything sticks!) 4. Dual Gear extruder 5. After cura 4.8 u cannot use other nozzle types sadly without some intense cura modification of ur printer

I've had my LK5 Pro for about a year now. I have the upgraded dual cooling fan assembly on order. I ordered a MicroSD to standard SD cable adapter soon after I got it and it was $10 well spent. I have over 850 hours of print time on it & it has served me well over the past year. I would highly recommend it to someone just getting into 3D printing as I was a year ago. It is currently out of commission because the hot end fan died waiting on the dual fan assembly to arrive to get it back up and running. I also have an Ender 2 Pro which I really like for my smaller prints. Nothing beats the LK5 Pro if you need to print larger prints however.

The glass bed that mine came with had a slight depression in it just off from center, that was about 1-2mm lower than the rest of the bed. First upgrade I got for it was a magnetic PEI bed

I fried my mainboard today. Is there a direct plug and play board upgrade for this machine? Will the creality boards run in this machine? Thanks!
@JJShankles2 жыл бұрын
Any board will need firmware written specifically for this printer, so for anything other than the stock board, I would search for someone who has already done the upgrade, and use their firmware and the same board they used
@joesalvator58782 жыл бұрын
@@JJShankles Thanks for the advice! I decided to stay with the stock board. It's actually a decent board and only 45 bucks from longer. I decided to go with a second y axis motor, and the dual blower as well. That's in addition to my gulf coast robotics V6. I'm very happy with this machine for the price and upgradeability.

I bought the Longer LK5 Pro and I'm using the PLA filament but I'm having trouble of the first layer breaking away from my project is seems to stick hard do you have any ideas to why it is doing this please
@JJShankles2 жыл бұрын
So you're saying it is sticking too hard to the bed? You could either try lowering the bed a little to make the first layer not as shushed into the bed. Another trick is just to rub your hand all over the bed. That adds just a little bit of finger oil and dirt, which is the opposite of what you normally want, but I've done this on new beds that stick too well.
@paulcole11712 жыл бұрын
@@JJShankles No I'm saying it is sticking to hard to my project, Model or module what ever you like to call it

Oh like you're printing with a Raft and that is sticking too hard to your part. I usually just don't print with a Raft since most parts don't need them anymore.

I just got this same printer and I must ask, what settings are you using because things are not sticking to my board, I'm using amazon PLA black and PLA silk silver.
@JJShankles2 жыл бұрын
I got good results with the default CURA profile, to get things to stick I would recommend wiping the bed down with Isopropyl Alcohol. Also try slowing down the first layer in CURA. Something like 10mm/s should make sticking way easier. You may need to level the bed closer to the nozzle.

@@JJShankles thanks I will try that, hopefully I will be printing a hydroponic tower🤞

I have the same printer and I use a glue stick over the bed where your job is going to start and it works well and you need to do is spray on WINDEX when the bed is cold and wipe it clean for the next job

is there any mac software to run this machines.

You mean the slicer software? I use Cura, which I think has a Mac version.

That vase looks way greater than 400mm/15 inches, it looks closer to 24 inches. Maybe its just the camera angle.
